British royal PRINCE CHARLES has called for the closure of MCDonalds fast food outlets worldwide in a bid to curb rising obesity levels. The prince targeted the chain as he attended the launch of a public health awareness campaign to fight diabetes in the United Arab Emirates. Speaking to nutritionist NADINE TAYARA at the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre in Abu Dhabi, Charles said, "Have you got anywhere with MCDonald's, have you tried getting it banned? That's the key." The prince has made no secret of his organic preferences in the past. In 1986 he set up a farm on his Highgrove Estate in Gloucestershire, England outlawing the use of artificial pesticides or fertilisers.

PRINCE CHARLES' ORGANIC FOODS & PRODUCTS

http://www.duchyoriginals.com/public/Default.aspx

Duchy Originals embodies HRH The Prince of Wales's commitment to what he calls a 'virtuous circle' of providing natural, high-quality organic and premium products, while helping to protect and sustain the countryside and wildlife. This in turn helps generate profits for charity rather than for commercial gain.

He spoke of it in 2002, the year of the company's 10 year anniversary: "I wanted to demonstrate that it was possible to produce food of the highest quality, working in harmony with the environment and nature, using the best ingredients and adding value through expert production. I also wanted to engender increasing funds for my Charitable Foundation, which receives all the profits through which I can then support an increasing number of worthwhile projects."

A core part of this philosophy has been to encourage the wider adoption of organic farming and food production. As the brand has grown, our support has been able to extend into many other areas of sustainable production, further endorsing the virtuous circle.

We are proud to say that as a result of such endeavours, we have been able to generate over £6 million for charitable causes since our inception.

ON PRINCE CHARLES' VIEWS ETC. 'Talks to Plants'

Despite his support of organic beef, it is obvious that Prince Charles is a man dedicated to the betterment of the the world. Mcdonalds has launched an attack on him attempting to prove his products are lower quality and less healthy than Mcdonalds. In these attacks Mcdonald's claims that their Burgers have over 50% less than what is stated on Mcdonald's own website. http://www.mcdonalds.com/app_controller.nutrition.index1.html

In their response, Mcdonalds claims that there are only 229 calories in its big mac as they compare it to the Prince's Cornish Pastry. However Mcdonald's own website clearly states that there are 540 calories in its big mac.
