One of our group members had posted a message on the heat being created on the issue of Madhes. He was seeing the future. Just after that we observed the incidence of violence in Nepalgunj which was followed by widespread protest and strikes in the terai of Nepal. Prachanda and Krishna Shitaula made public statements in such a fashion that it seemed that they were more interested in flaring up of the conflict then bringing calm and peace. They wanted that the conflict to be further flared up on the basis of Madhesi, Janjati & Dalit. Can anyone tell me what is Janjati ? They have made a list of some 60 castes of Hindus and labelled it as Janjati. One fellow named Om who is a christian agent declares himself to be the leader of Janjati. What is designed to happen will happen. Because there is no network of nationalist forces in Nepal to stop all these things. What we can do is to create awareness against the forces of darkness and firmly say that "we are Hindus and we are one". One of the satisfying part of the distressful days were that there was no incidence of major violence clash between pahadi & madhesi hindu communities. Although Prachanda tried to initiate violence by his statements. Dharma Jagaran Manch repeatedly made appeals to maintain peace & harmony between all hindus. TV dinner still cooling?
