Use knowledge of Vedas HT Correspondent

Varanasi, February 9 VICE-CHANCELLOR OF the Lal Bahadur Shashtri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth (New Delhi), Prof. Vachaspati Upadhyay said that there was unlimited knowledge hidden in ancient Vedas.

He was delivering the inaugural address of three-day second world congress on Vedic Sciences at Swatantrata Bhawan in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) on Friday. BHU in association with Sampurnanand Sanskrit University and Vijnana Bharati has organised the congress.

Prof. Upadhyay said that there was an urgent need to use the knowledge of Vedas in a proper manner for the welfare of entire human being. “The message of Vedas should not be confined to only one language but it should be communicated in all the languages across the world,” he said.

He said, “The ancient Vedas of India deals with all the streams including science, technology, economics, mathematics and astrology and the need of the hour is to make an endless and collective effort to use the knowledge of our ancient scholars for the human welfare in the best possible manner.”

“One should practice four ‘Rs’ namely role, routine, responsibility and relationship to create global peace,” he said, adding, “India has to give a message of global peace and human welfare through Vedas across the globe.”

Vice-Chancellor of BHU Prof. Panjab Singh presided over the function and stressed the need to implement Vedic knowledge for human welfare.

Former vice-chancellor of the Vivekanand University (West Bengal), Swami Atmapriyanand also addressed the inaugural function.
