Guest guest
Namaskar everybody. When we talk of "Paap" and "Punya" and the accumulation of Karma, will these not go away automatically when we actully realise that God acts thru us all the time, and we can't do anything against His will. Since no action can take place on the earth without His will, isn't (S)HE experiencing evrything thru us, and till we put this fictitious SELF in the act, how can there be PAAP or PUNYA? Please enlighten me. rajeeva
Guest guest
Namaskaar You are right he is experiencing everything through us - he is also described as being untainted and beyond the three gunas, we are not- The fact that God can dwell in us or that God is experiencing through us, does not mean that we are somehow absolved of the nonsense that we do. Let me give you a little kahani to illustrate There is this Shiv Bhakt of a very high order and he is meditating on Brahman intensively and then realizes Brahman - he is elated and is repeating All is Brahman - I am Brahman. At this very instant though an elephant with his handler is coming toward the Bhakt and the handler is shouting - Get out of the Way ! But the Bhakt is still deeply absorbed in All is Brahman - I am Brahman. To cut a long story short, the elephant runs over the Bhakt and while he is there moaning in pain is still repeating - All is Brahman - I am Brahman. The elephant handler is horrified at what just happened and comes over, trying to see how he can assist the Bhakt - All the Bhakt keeps repeating all is Brahman.... - The handler then asks - Well didn't you see Brahman, telling you to get out of the way ? Moral of the story Whether all is Brahman or not, be careful of charging elephants..... lol On a more serious note though, so long as there is duality in the universe and we are aware of such duality then everything has its opposite. Light and Dark, Good and Evil, Pleasure and Pain, Sin and Virtue. Now here is the most important point in all of this. It is one thing to know of this unity and higher self etc.. in an intellectual sense through Scripture or knowledge and experience of saints and sages. However ....... It is quite another thing to have this knowledge and be able to experience it personally, as only when you are able to do so, that you become free from these fetters. - Paap and Punya etc... Guest guest
Namaskar Dev Maharaj, I find it extremely difficult to believe that we have any control over any of our actions. We may live our routine activities and feel in control, but that is the EGO satisfying itself. Right action happens on its own, if you consider yourself always in the mercy of God, and not take credit for any of your actions. All action is RIGHT if it reflects LOVE for one and all. I feel if can love everybody, NO SIN will ever be done. I am a Grihasth, not aware of scriptures, shlokas, mantras etc, but I feel contended, happy and blissful all the time without even doing any daily PUJA. I feel myself the most blessed man in the world. Is there anything wrong with me? rajeeva Dev Maharaj <dev_maharaj > wrote: Namaskaar You are right he is experiencing everything through us - he is also described as being untainted and beyond the three gunas, we are not- The fact that God can dwell in us or that God is experiencing through us, does not mean that we are somehow absolved of the nonsense that we do.
