So Love for the Divine and knowledge of the Divine... which one is

important and which one is easy to Reach ??

As you said in your last post...knowledge can be had from

books/gurus, but love cant be learnt/taught ??

doesn't that statement make "LOVE" more difficult, more important

and more credential ??

with love

yes, Love cant be learnt or taught, thats why it is ignored by most

people, who want things they can measure & weigh, like shopkeepers.

So a person who has read 2 vedas is higher than someone who has only

read 1, even though both maybe complete idiots otherwise!

Knowledge can be quantified- you can have a checklist- Vedas, check,

Gita, Check, Upanishads, check, check, check. You have become a Gyani!

But then most people do Bhakti the same way-I have heard people

boasting how they/their gurus have done 3 crore mantras, as if God

cares, that like a shopkeeper you are keeping an account of how many

Mantra you have done, or how long(like the fellow who did Shiv mantra

for 20 years with no effect). There must some difference b/w selling

kerosene oil & finding Moksha!

Such people, when they reach heaven, will take out their diary & say

to Yama-"Okji, I did Mantra for 20 years, dhyan for 5 years, gave 10

Lakh to charity, so I should Moksha, or at least high level heaven".

Then they will argue with Yama to give them a discount, like "I did 1

crore Mantra, I should get 10% extra Punya", or husbands should go

free with wives.

So Babaji, if you Love to grow in the world, find some way in which it

can be "measured"(like a person who gives Rs 500 to temple "loves" God

more than one who gives Rs 50). Then see, there will be a line of

people wanting to "love" God, there will be special posts of people

who love God the most(who will form Trusts & open temples), people

will write books on best way to love God.

Soon there will be so much "Love" that God will be forced to come

down, if only to slap some sense into people.

LOL good satire !! so Love is greater that knowledge you think ?

How can we distinguish between a lover of God and a fake lover ?

Love cant be measured, or discussed or taught or learnt... then how

love starts with HIM ?

I think it is very clear, even to non-believers. Real love isnt

controlling, fanatical & doesnt make your ego bloated- this applies

not just Love for God, but anyone(wife, kids, relatives etc).

When most people goto a temple, they go with a feeling of greed, fear

etc. Thats not love.

Some time ago we went to Vrindavan, & a Krishna temple. The priest

said that Krishna used to walk as a baby there, & we had to too! If

someone, out of love wants to act like Baby Krishna, thats very good,

but forcing everyone as a blind ritual to do so is fanatacism, its

certainly not love.

Most people, when they surrender to God, do so out of Tamsic/Rajsic

motives, ie fear of God, or greed for results(some religons shout from

the roof about fearing God, or else.....). Thats not true love, thats

just hypocrisy.

People make such a big hullaboo about rituals- we have to offer

prashad to Murti of God, offer scent etc. I dont if God cares about

such rituals, as Ive never met him. But I do know that the one person

we can say with gurantee had met God was Ramakrishna. He never

bothered about rituals, sometimes not offering food, sometimes eating

all the food offered for Kali himself!

His was true Love, as it wasnt constrained by any meaningless ritual,

nor was there any greed for results. Ultimately, we cant define love

in terms that the mind can understand, as Love is beyond the mind &

all its petty classifications & divions. All we can do is point to

Great Men like Ramakrishna & says "Thats Love! What you are doing is

nonsense!"

Om Nama Shivaya.

Very intersting discussions.

" Bakthir pakasas bajanam pava pedhagaari

Kachandyalam suuvibuvalam gamanaya thathvam

vakroth thurthandu hurudhimay navipathi Kanchith

Tatmat thvamava charanam mama deenabandho "

- swami vivekananda.

" to disolve with you The Most high supreme conciousness, Bakthi

which helps in getting rid of worldly pleasures, Devotion and

Meditation guides me. But even though these could be understood by my

Brain but my heart doesnot understand it so I submit my self to you

Almighty "

BabaJi you clearly explained what pure luv is about in your previous

post reg Krishna and the hunch girl.

Only with knowledge or Gyan i would say is difficult and with lots of

Love and Bakthi - total submission would work.

I also would say Love can be Taught. yes. When you share your love

with others they are taught indirectly.

Shivaya Nama aum.

Thiruchitrambalam.

Senthil.

LOL thanks Senthil dear,

Yes when i first wrote this story (long ago as silentsoul)... i

was really weeping..thinking of the hunch-back girl..

Are we not all hunch-backs? with so many defects in us.... and

still we yearn for HIM.

Tulsidas has beautifully written in Vinay Patrika

I do not know Yoga, nor yagya, nor meditation

I do not have courage to leave the world and be a Sanyasi

I have learnt all what bad could be learnt from Kaliyuga

Be it Krodha, moha, Lobha

Still I wait for His Grace

As I heard Lord Rama is very kind

He may take pity on me taking my defects and

sins..for this poor soul

love
