Guest guest
Namaste Hiroppi, thanks for nice words. You are on the right track of mind and spirituality since you realize that there's difficulty to get connected to God. And you are correct. It is a long process that requires faith, religious practice, prayers and devotion. It also requires pureness of mind, heart and soul. Those who sincerely yearn for God will find Him. Just like the Siddhars who yearn for Shiva. They pray at holy shrines and Jyotir Lings and would eventually find Shiva. Just like Sri Ramakrishna and other saints who yearned for Goddess Kali would find Her. To begin searching for God, perhaps its a good idea to first find and identify yourself with an Ishta Devata (loosely translated as "Your Personal God to Worship" everyday). The Ishta Devata can be a male or female God or Goddess. Then start praying to this God daily and recite the associated mantra 108 times each day. It requires discipline. Through regular practice, it becomes easier. Also remember that within each person, there is an Upaguru (Inner Guru) and a God or Goddess. Many people do not realize this because during modern times, due to stress and hectic daily activities, they have no time to make a connection with the Inner God which is usually in the subconcious. The Inner God is also usually the God that a person later realizes to select as Ishta Devata. It is never too late to approach God. An example of why "the Inner God is usually in the subconcious" is : When we say Namaste, it literally means "I greet the Divine Within You". The Divine is God. So I'm greeting the "God In You". Hope the above makes sense.
