Guest guest
i have been receiving at least two emails a day ever since i made that cute little announcement 'taking a bow ...' well, my attention has now been diverted from participation in the group to replying to those private emails ... the mesaage is the same ' please come back , Mother ' "! how can this earthly mother not bow down to the wishes of her children ? so, i decided to bow down to the wishes of my fans here ! Thanks guys for all your unconditional love ! I WILL LIMIT MY PARTICIPATION TO ONE POST PER WEEK ! As usual, our beloved Shyamji has penned a brilliant post on 'surrender ' ... in this context , may i please be allowed to share a beautiful verse from Adi Shankara bhagvadapada's Shiva Manasa puja Atma tvam Girija matih, sahacharaah praanaah, sariram griham, Pujaa te vishayopa bhoga rachanaa, nidraa samaadhih stitih, Sanchaarah padayoh pradakshina vidhih, stotrani sarvaa giro, Yadyat karma karomi tattadakhilam Sambho! tavaaraadhanam". "My self is Sambhu (yourself); my intellect is Girija; my vital breaths are your attendants; my body is your temple of residence; my enjoying the objects of senses is your worship; my sleep is the state of meditation; all movement with the pair of feet is doing pradakshina to you and all my words are your praises. O Sambhu! Whatever I do is entirely an act of worshipping you." This is how an ADVAITA ACHARYA SURRENDERS ! all the jnanedriyas and karmendriyas in a bhava of total surrender ! in this same co0ntext , i would like to recall another verse from Srimad Bhagvat Gita and Bhagwan Krishna himself says in Srimad Bhagwat Gita chapter 10, verse 20 aham atma gudakesa sarva-bhutasaya-sthitah aham adis ca madhyam ca bhutanam anta eva ca I am the Self, O Gudakesa, seated in the hearts of all creatures. I am the beginning, the middle and the end of all beings. in the same chapteer, verse 32 reads sarganam adir antas ca madhyam caivaham arjuna adhyatma-vidya vidyanam vadah pravadatam aham Among creations, I am the beginning, the middle and also the end, O Arjuna; among sciences I am the Science of the Self and I am the logic in all arguments. The die hard advaitins in this group would love these verses and proudly proclainm "Atma hi parmatma , dusro koin na bhagwaan' Atms is parmatma , there is no other God ! now , for those of us who were brought up hearing RAMAYANA FROM OUR CHILDHOOD DAYS , CAN WE EVER FORGET SUCH WONDERFUL INCIDENTS OF 'VIBISHANA SHARANAGATI ' OR 'BHARATA MILAAP ' ? where both Vibishana , brother of Ravana from the enemy camp and Bharata , the brother of lord Rama surrender their 'all ' to Lord Rama ? The very word 'sharanagati' means surrendering to the Feet - or lotus feet of the lord /guru ... all disciples do guru paduka puja ( worshipping the sandals of the guru) we will all wait for our respected Sadanandaji to elaborate more on this in his discourses on 'VEDANTA TO BEGINNERS' and read how beautifully he will expain this tattwa using the concept of 'prapti ' kainkariyam etc ... it will be delightful - pleasing to the Ears - karnamritam .. To me , any day , THE GOPI HEART IN ME would love to be called the 'beloved of the beloved ' than the 'beloved' ... there is some beauty in surrendering --- not just the Ego but one's whole persona made of all the indriyas ... in tantra , the true surrender means Tan and man - body and mind ! DEAR ONES ! i would invite one and all to explain this verse to me from the Srimad bhagvat gita ... sarva-dharmam parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja aham tvam sarva papebhyo moksayisyami mah sucah Whose 'saranam' we are talking about ? who is surrendering to whose feet ? are we all Narcissts to surrender to one's own feet ? (subbuji says in post number 35020 " If a person says Ishwara is just in vyavahara and not to be taken seriously, watch out, this person has not to be taken seriously. It will put your sadhana in jeopardy. ]]] Subbuji, i bow to your lotus feet for saying that!! My love and blessings to all atma samarpanam at the lotus feet of Sriman Narayana ! ps i thank lady joyce for bringing out the best in dr shyamji ! itin, Shyam <shyam_md wrote: > > Pranams > Thank you for sharing that beautiful poem. > > It serves as an inspiration for me to elaborate about > the concept of surrender or sharanagati. > >> Toolbar alerts you the instant new Mail arrives. > http://tools.search./toolbar/features/mail/ >

Dear Dhyansaraswati-Ji: Somehow you always bring a great and wonderful smile to me!. You made the announcement of "taking a bow" a day before yesterday. Yet, with the melting heart of a mother, two very powerful e-mails written by your fans have brought you back to us a very short time after. I fully agree with your comment below and you are certainly very perceptive. > As usual, our beloved Shyamji has penned a brilliant post > on 'surrender ' ... > > Namaste and love to all Harsha
