Guest guest
Greetings ! Dear Satsanghis ! The Time has come for me to say 'goodbye ' and make my exit from this group . No ! No ! i am not leaving the group ! How can i ? i am here as a full fledged member but i just will not be posting any more . Time for me to step back ... , read and reflect on the divine messages posted here , Yes , Web ADDICTION is worse than Samsaric maya ... once , you get into this web , it is very difficult to get out of it ... i specially enjoyed my presence here veru much under Dennisji's moderatorship - free and uncensored - i felt like a butterfly , moving about freely and fearlessly .. Thanks Dennisji for your liberal outlook in the true spirit of an advaitin ... I specially enjoy reading Sri Anandaji's posts - specially his poetic style and of stating Advaitic philosophy in simple verses with profound meanings .... there are many others whose posts i equally enjoyed reading , too numerous to mention ... professorji, you have always been one of my all time favorites for many years and i appreciate your selfless service to this group and others ! i will be sure to read your six part series ,,, only thing is i will be silently cheering you ! i will continue to enjoy reading the posts here as a 'silent ' participant and i will speak up if i need to !only if i have to ! i hope subbuji will start posting again as i do not want to miss any of his sparks of wisdom, i have made many friends here and some enemies too ! but please forgive me , if i have been a little too overbearing at times ! That is the 'feminist' in me asserting itself in a male dominated group! Smile! Dennisji , thank you once more for all your support ... Good luck with all your projects ... may i leave you this lovely verse from Tagore's Gitanjali ? Parting Words When I go from hence let this be my parting word, that what I have seen is unsurpassable. I have tasted of the hidden honey of this lotus that expands on the ocean of light, and thus am I blessed ---let this be my parting word. In this playhouse of infinite forms I have had my play and here have I caught sight of him that is formless. My whole body and my limbs have thrilled with his touch who is beyond touch; and if the end comes here, let it come ---let this be my parting word. Best wishes to all

Guest guest
Dear Saraswati-ji, Many thanks for your tributes and for your long-standing and enthusiastic support of the group. I am sure you will need to take a break from the nappies and milk-warming occasionally and will not resist adding to the background and scope of a current topic by drawing on the vast resources of knowledge you seem to have constantly at your service! Best wishes, Dennis advaitin [advaitin] On Behalf Of dhyanasaraswati 02 February 2007 00:36 advaitin Taking a Bow ....... Greetings ! Dear Satsanghis ! Especially when we turned the focus of this group for beginners? We consider you a very valuable teacher. Always wondered how you can pick various quotes and verses that are so relevant to the point in discussion! I think you have taken various names and forms in the group before. You are the motherly figure in this group. Please see if any thing I mentioned can make you participate in the group for the benefit of people like us. Guest guest
Pranaams, hello to all I believe it is not retiring away from the world that means we are working on ourselves, but detaching while in the world is the true work. It is not quitting internet or the list that matters, but getting rid of the attachment to it, and this is something that happens within each one. On the other hand, to help others with one's knowledge maybe is more important than hours of meditation or something like this. Just my thoughts..Thank you all for the priceless informations you share. Namaste,D et al, It is a strange thing, but we can make all kind of progress with overcoming attachment and then along comes a grandchild and we have to start again. This was the case with me, and I heard Deepak Chopra admitting the same about his two grandchildren. He did say though that they also will grow old and die. Good Luck and Blessings....Tony. When a devotee told Sri Ramakrishna that some devotees were taking music lessons, he specifically enquired whether "Tarak" was as well. When this was confirmed, the Guru replied to the effect: Then his eyes won't be on the ground as much. A mind contemplating on other things does not contemplate on God as well. As you said, religion involves "getting rid of attachment", which can initially be a difficult task. A bit of carelessness, and the mind will grab a mild "harmless" fancy, call it classical music or advaita e-group, and the rest is history. Those advanced in their devotional practices will be able to handle this and that. But beginners should always be extra careful and constantly make assessments of the "why" behind the whatever they are doing, and be ready to make corrections. It is almost an experimental process: we should always be happy when someone attempts the path of renunciation; the right way will find itself (or the Lord will show it). thollmelukaalkizhu
