Guest guest
Sri Yukteswar is a self realized master. Everything he says vibrates with truth. For those who do not realize this, the Nobel Prize winning Linus Pauling, only man to win in both peace and biochemistry, defends fruitarian diet many times. http://fruitarians.blogspot.com SoulQuest7 (AT) aol (DOT) com wrote: In a message dated 11/6/2002 11:50:03 AM Pacific Standard Time, janitri (AT) aol (DOT) com writes: > <<In the book the "Holy Science" by Sri Yukestwar an in depth discussion of > why human bodies are not intended to eat meat is written. Yukteswar's logic is fallacious and based on outmoded unscientific veiwpoints. His arguments based on teeth style, the length of the digestive tract and colon, and the "organs of sense" have all been disproved, as has the idea that primates the most similar to human are fruitarians. His argument is actually in favor of frutarianism, by far the most dangerous of all the meat-free diets and something I would NEVER recommend to people interested in a meat-free diet. Ironically, he also supports the consumption of milk (page 66), but I'm not sure how he reconciles that with his fruitarian argument! As an interesting aside, British doctors found that so many of their Indian immigrant vegetarians were developing anemia after moving to Britain, that it became known as an expected problem to watch out for. It was discovered that the vegetarian food in India was suffieciently contaminated with incects and bacteria to supply the necessary nutrients needed to form red blood cells. When they moved to Britain and got the highly sanitized inorganic food, they developed anemia. (Adding vitamin C to the diet increases iron absorption and wards of anemia, by the way.) By analyzing Sri Yukteswar's book and logic, I think I can only conclude that vegetarians in the West need to think for themselves and not rely on ideas only from India. === Jai Ahimsa Devi-==- Nick
