Guest guest
Namaste Derick, its fine to bath Lord Ganesha's murti in milk, rinse with spring water and then use rose water. Alternatively in place of spring water, Ganga Jal (Ganges Water) can be used. An option is also to perfume with Itra after the murti is dry. Please use your instinct as a guide what you wish to use in this case. And yes, sandal paste can be applied before placing the murti back on the altar. Devoted worship of Lord Ganapati removes obstacles and brings success in many areas of life. He is said to be very close to the human realm. Wishing you every success with the university entrance and all aspects of your life.
