Guest guest
Talk about a small world...I live in Colorado in a fairly big suburban area, yet it's rare for me to encounter people who know of Amma, at least in the places I frequent normally. I wear my mala beads and my double-sided Amma pendant daily, especially to work (an ice skating rink) and recently I've begun wearing a bindi. It's always interesting to get odd looks from people, especially those you know want to say something, but they won't. Occasionally I get people asking why I wear it, if there is any significance, etc. and I always tell them yes, I am Hindu. And usually leave it at that along with a big smile. Well, one woman was paying to go skating on Friday or Saturday and she asked about the bindi and I gave my normal response and she nodded but looked closer; not at my bindi, but at my necklaces. And suddenly she exclaimed "That's Amma!" I was floored but absolutely delighted. We chatted for a few minutes and I learned she had gone in November to see Amma in San Ramon. I believe she said her name was Puja, but the acoustics in the lobby are awful, so I wasn't able to catch it fully. Talk about the small world of Amma! Jai Ma!
