Guest guest
Namaste Sarah, warm welcome to you. Nice to meet someone who lives near the monastery founded by Sri Satguru Subramuniyaswami. I've seen some seeds from there. Yes they are supposed to be thoroughly dried at room temperature and then oiled for preservation and prevention of insect infestation. Would mostly recommend the use of cold pressed almond oil mixed with a few drops of sandalwood essential oil. But others use oils that they prefer such as olive, jojoba, til (sesami) or mustard oil, etc. After oiling, place the beads on paper kitchen towels in a bowl for the oil to drain off. Then rub or polish each bead with a cotton towel.
