Respected Sirs,

Namaskar. I just had one question. I have couple of friends who are

expecting, due date in later months of this year. I have a question

that babies born during that period will have Saturn and Ketu in Simha

rasi. I have read on this forum that this conjuction causes preta

badha. Does it apply to everyone in general or are there any

exceptions to this rule? I am asking because there will be so many

children born during this period, does it mean all of them will have

this dosha? I'd really appreciate your thoughts and input.

Regards,

Mona

Dear Mona, Namaskar

The combination you refer to is called pitri

dosha, not preta badhak. The latter occurs when

Gulika or Ketu associates with the

badhakasthana. Pitri dosha is said to mean that

the pitris (ancestors) are unhappy and that this

sorrow will affect the life of the person, and is

caused by the conjunction of Shani with either of the nodes.

I do not know of any outright exceptions; it

would appear that all people born during the

period of conjunction of Shani with Ketu will

suffer this affliction. However it is important

to note that the effects and depths of the

affliction will very much depend on which other

placements and yogas are affected by this

combination, and whether particular grahas like

the atmakaraka and lagnesha are involved.

I hope that helps.

Best wishes,

Samir
