Many in the scientific field believe that Jyotish is

nothing more than mumbo-jumbo, but it is important for

us to understand that both science and Jyotish

ultimately lead to illumination. Sometimes, these

fields seem worlds apart, but in some cases, they can

meet--and thereby prove that the two are quite

connected after all.

Napoleon Bonaparte's death is a good case in point. In

an article [1] it is quoted that:

///But the latest review of the 1821 autopsy report

just after he died concludes the official cause of

death -- stomach cancer -- is correct.

The autopsy describes a tumor in his stomach that was

4 inches (10 centimeters) long. Comparing that

description to modern cases, main author Dr. Robert M.

Genta of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical

Center at Dallas and an international team of

researchers surmised that a growth so extensive could

not have been a benign stomach ulcer.///

Napoleon's birth data [2] is:

15 August 1769 [Died: 5 May 1821]

11:34 AM LMT [10:34 AM GMT]

Ajaccio [France]

41n55, 8e44 [1:00 East]

This is how the chart looks like:

At the time of death, he was running gu-ra-ku (2 May

1821 - 22 June 1821).

Since a Rodden rating of "B" refers to "Biography or

autobiography" we should do some tests to assure

ourselves that the data is correct. For the purpose of

study, a popular source [3] has been used.

(a) Imprisoned (6 August 1794, ra-sa-ku [13 Jun 1794 -

12 Aug 1794]): Kuja occupies the star of Sukra, who is

disposited by Budha, the lord of the 12th house of

confinement. Budha is conjunct Sani. Of course, since

antar natha is a subha graha in this chart, and also

because dasa natha Rahu rules the 5th, Napoleon was

released within two weeks. Note also that pratyantar

natha aspects the 6th house of enemies and is the lord

of the 7th, which concerns law courts.

(b) Marriage (9 March 1796, ra-bu-sk [7 Dec 1795 - 10

May 1796]): Sukra as Kalatra Karaka no doubt ensured

his marriage.

© Crowned Emperor (2 December 1804, ra-ku-sa [13 Oct

1804 - 12 Dec 1804]): Sani is the Raja Yoga Karaka for

Tula Lagna. He occupies the 10th [status] and aspects

his own house, the 4th [end of undertakings]. Note the

Parivartana between Sani and Chandra, who rules the

minds of the masses and occupies the 4th house.

Now that we are sure that the data is reasonably

correct, let us move on to Napoleon's death.

In a study [4] by Alessandro Lugli, Inti Zlobec, Gad

Singer, Andrea Kopp Lugli, Luigi M Terracciano and

Robert M Genta it is noted that:

///Our analysis suggests that Napoleon's illness was a

sporadic gastric carcinoma of advanced stage. Patients

with such tumors have a notoriously poor prognosis.///

This study further points out that:

///Phase 5, the 2 months that immediately preceded

Napoleon's death (March 1821–May 1821), is well

documented in Dr Antommarchi's memoirs: the Emperor

suffered from strong, diffuse, abdominal pain (present

in 48 of 48 days); fever (present in 36 of 48 days);

emesis (present in 32 of 48 days); night sweats

(Napoleon had to change clothes several times every

night); hematemesis and melena on 5 April 1821; and

tachycardia (112 beats per minute) on 1 May 1821, 23

Napoleon died 4 days later on 5 May 1821.///

Since the researchers do not have the actual corpse of

Napoleon, it is hard to say with 100% accuracy that

Napoleon actually died as per their claim.

This is where divine Jyotish steps in.

The dasa natha at the time of death, Guru, rules the

6th [diseases] and the 3rd [cause of death]. The antar

natha Rahu is placed in the 3rd in the star of Ketu,

the secretive graha who causes diseases that cannot be

diagnosed easily. Ketu, though placed in the 9th

house, is conjunct 8th lord Sukra and is placed in the

star of Kuja, a double-maraka who owns the 2nd and the

7th.

The pratyantar natha Kuja gives the real reason for

death. Kuja is placed in the star of 8th lord Sukra

and is conjunct the lord of the 11th in the 11th.

Since the 11th is the 6th from the 6th, as per Bhavat

Bhavam, it also indicates the house of diseases. Added

to this, the 11th also rules diseases.

The study [4] also found that:

///The stomach was filled with dark material that

resembled coffee grounds, a strong indication of upper

gastrointestinal bleeding that could have been the

immediate cause of death.///

Kuja in the 6th from the 6th [digestive system] and

indicates wounds [internal bleeding].

An interesting point to note is that, while running

gu-ra-ch on 1 May 1821, Napoleon recorded 112 beats

per minute. Note Chandra placed in the 4th [heart]

aspected by Roga Karaka Sani, who is conjunct 12th

lord. Chandra is also in the star of Surya, who rules

the heart.

It was in gu-ra-ch (18 Feb 1821 - 1 May 1821) that

Napoleon suffered from a variety of ailments like:

(a) Abdominal pain: Chandra is in the star of 11th

lord Surya, while Dasa Natha rules the 6th, which

deals with the abdomen area in general.

(b) Fever: Fevers are ruled by Surya, the 11th lord,

and star lord of pratyantar natha Chandra.

© Emesis: Emesis refers to vomiting, and this is

probably because of imbalance of the digestive tract,

ruled by dasa natha Guru's 6th house.

(d) Night sweats: Sweat refers to water and skin.

Chandra rules water, while Budha rules skin and

aspects Chandra.

(e) Hematemesis: Hematemesis refers to the presence of

blood in vomit. This blood can be associated with

Chandra.

(f) Melena: Melena refers to black feces that are

associated with gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Again,

the role of Chandra, who rules blood, is quite clear.

Conclusion

One might well ask--how many practitioners of Jyotish

could have deduced from this chart that this is how

death happened? While it is hard to answer this

question, it is more important to accept the

realization that Jyotish in this case can confirm all

that science has found to be true.

Some scientists may still believe that Jyotish is

mumbo jumbo. This, ultimately, can be traced to their

own general inabilities to break the boundaries

between religion--with which Jyotish has strong

connections--and science.
