even i get problems in concentration many times.....

when we are about to do good things, obstacles always crop up....we have

to overcome them with great tolerance and patience....

if you have a photo of lord shiva, the you can keep your eyes open and

look at his feet...and then do the jap....keeping the eyes closed many

times causes the mind to wander......

or if you have ever seen any shiv lingam, or a jyotirlingam and you

remember it then, keep it fixed in your mind when your eyes are

closed....then do the jap....

see all days are not the same......somedays the concentration is more

and sometimes less....

There are some things you need to be aware of to develop proficiency

with your mantra practice and to remove obstacles

What's the difference between chanting loudly and chanting mentally ?

There are several forms of Japa

1) Manasik - Considered the highest form of Japa

2) Upamshu - Considered middling in result

3) Vaikhari - Considered lowest but best for creating vibrations in the environment

Chanting loudly creates vibrations that are conducive to the Devi/Devata manifesting and is expressive. It also burns up more energy and tires one quickly Mental Japa utilizes the least amount of energy so that you can remain conscious for longer periods also addtionally helping you to remain focused on the mantra and the created thought form which connects to the DevI/Devata consciousness more readily.

How important is the pronunciation of the mantra ?

Very. It is necessary to try to correctly pronounce the mantra at all times with

correct (chhand) meter for vedic mantras especially. In tantrik mantras the

emphasis is on vibrating/resonating the mantras.

How to Purify the Aura ? What are the different techniques for this ?

This is essential as it will help you to concentrate better.

Get up each morning just before dawn at about 4-5 a.m before any traffic is

present and perform these two exercises

Firstly as much as you can tense all of your muscles, then stretch as far as you

can your legs, arms and back. This not only improves circulation but it also

opens up your energy channels which promotes healing.

Abdominal Exercise

Leaning forward with hands on knees and feet apart, breathe out.

Contract abdominal muscles pulling them up and inside, rotate muscles

right to left as fast as is possible (increase the speed as you gain proficiency),

breathe in after rotation and repeat up to 10 times. This stimulates the nervous

system and reduces disorders caused by mucus.

Breathing Exercise

Scrape tongue clean, and stick out in fresh air for a few minutes then breathe in

and out quickly and evenly, stop when strain is felt. This destroys diseases caused by phlegm.

Then drink approximately 4-5 glasses of water (Room temperature - not too

warm, not too cold. initially you may have a slightly nauseous feeling but this

will pass after a few days.

If you can get coconut oil (sesame will do also) warm about 3-4 tablespoons

and add a half teaspoon cayenne pepper. Gently massage the soles of your feet

in a circular downward motion only after bathing in warm water.

Things to limit/avoid

1) If you smoke - reduce this as much as you can

2) If you drink - avoid alcohol

3) If you eat meat - limit quantity and quality of meat

Red meat (beef and pork) significantly lowers your bodily vibration

which in turn inhibits your natural healing and fills you with toxins

galore ! None would be ideal.

4) Limit your sugar intake, don't use the artificial stuff either,

if possible use honey as a sweetener.

5) Avoid fried/oily foods - make sure there is blood in your ghee stream(lol)

Things to do

Take 2 tablespoons of turmeric powder ( if you can get the root even better),

boil a small cup of water and let the turmeric draw like a tea. Drink 1-2 cups

per day for 7 days, stop for 3 days and then begin the cycle again.

( if you notice increased stomach acidity, reduce the quantity to 1 cup only. Turmeric is an antioxidant with both antiseptic and antibiotic properties,

this should work wonders in clearing up your skin and liver toxicity.

If you can get bitter neem leaves, take six fresh leaves and chew it up quickly - do this for 5 days only. ( note a neem branch has about 9 pairs of leaves use

only 3 pairs at the tip- if you suffer from high blood pressure stop this if you feel any mal effects such as headaches. You will also notice a drop in your libido- this is temporary and everything will be normal after a few days.)

Prolonged use of large amounts of neem is known to raise your blood pressure

and reduce sperm count (in men). You may notice an uneasy feeling in your

stomach or liver, this happens when there is excess toxicity and it is being pushed out, nothing to worry about will pass in a day or so.

This cleans your colon which is essential to getting you to absorb nutrients properly as well as ridding yourself of excess toxins which can cause skin problems. If you can get saffron - mix about 100 mg in some warm milk and

drink before going to sleep, this purifies the blood.

Eat lots of green leafy vegetables such as spinach, lettuce and Bak choi

(Chinese spinach). Before eating all vegetables soak the vegetable in warm water

For 5 minutes, this has the effect of diluting pesticides which were sprayed on

the vegetable. Also Papaya is good for Vitamin A, this reduces dimness of vision

A problem many Indians suffer from.

Drink lots of natural fruit juices ( not with too much acidity though, this may

negatively affect your skin)

Recommended juices are orange, lime, watermelon, fruit punch

Weekly/Monthly Bath

Get the following

10 pounds of Salt, 1 pound of turmeric powder ( fresh root is best) and 4 limes

Get up early in the morning remove your bedsheets, spread some newspaper on

your bed and evenly spread about four pounds of salt on the newspaper. Leave

this for the full day. In the evening, remove both salt and newspaper and spread

fresh bedsheets. Do not touch the salt with your hands. Dump the salt in the

toilet, flush and rinse before using the toilet. This will remove negative energy

from your bed.

Then Mix the one pound of turmeric with water until it becomes a thick spreadable paste, apply this from the crown of your head going down to your toes

(in a downward motion only). Apply extra amounts to your chakra points.

Leave this on your body for about 30-45 minutes until it dries. Rinse off the paste

This removes excessive toxins from your skin

Then mix four pounds of salt with water until it becomes a thick spreadable

paste, apply this from the crown of your head going down to your toes (in a downward motion only). Apply extra amounts to your chakra points.

Leave this on your body for about 10-15 minutes. Rub your body in a downward

motion only.

Rinse off the paste. This removes superficial negative energy from your aura, also

because salt is an electrolyte it sparks up your energy fields which aids in healing.

Cut the four limes and use the halves to rub your body in a downward motion

only. This will remove extra yellowness from the Turmeric. Be careful to wash

crevices in your body carefully such as underarms as when you sweat this may

cause chaffing of your skin.

Now you should feel a sense of lightness ( this is because the negative

energy/toxins have been reduced. go to sleep, avoid sleeping next to anyone

if possible.)

If you are married it would be recommended to double the quantities suggested

and have your spouse do the same as impurities from his/her aura will be passed

on to you when you sleep together !

MANTRA FOR BATHING:

"Aum Gange cha Yamune chaiva Godaavari, Sarasvati, Narmade, Sindhu,

Kaaveri Jalesmin Sannidhim Kuru"

While reciting look at the sun ( if it is not there visualize it) and visualize the rays

of yellow, white, red, blue, green, purple and gold entering the water from the sun.

Mantra is intended for purification and energizing of water.

TECHNIQUE II

You can also use water that has been left out in the sun with crystals ( Natural

quartz ). This removes the heavy energies and re-energizes the Aura.

There is a particular stone called a Tourmaline (Schorl-black) that assists in

removing negative energies from your aura and keeping them off of you.

Keep this on you and bathe with water that it has been left in.

How to clean ones chakras ?

Mantra Yoga

Concentrate (Visualize) on three Aum coming in through heart (between the

breasts) from left, center and right directions and going through sahasra (top of

the head), then enveloping body like a fountain, then three Gang, then three

Aum, then from sahasra going out through heart disappearing into fire.

Loudly vibrate these sounds as you perform the visualization.

Visualize Aum coming in through heart chakra and going to all seven

chakras individually.

Now I want you to focus on each Chakra individually, here I want you to recite

"Hum" sounded as "Hoooom" let it resonate in the chakra. Even if you cannot

feel it, know that it is vibrating (Until you can actually hear it in you).

Create a mental picture of the negative energy ( black in colour) and see it

dispersing out of you. After this vibrate "Aum" in all the seven Chakras

Keep doing it repeatedly for as long as you can, every day. Note if there are

sensations anywhere in your body. If you feel pain after practice, I would suggest

that you take a big sheet of towel paper and place about a half a pound of salt

with a small quantity of water to make it into a paste, keep this over the area until

the pain subsides.

Note:

To keep the aura clean, it is inadvisable to touch people as the impurities from

their aura finds its way over to yours - Shaking hands, hugging and kissing to be

avoided.

Before commencing mantra practice it is advisable to perform Nadi Shodhana, a simple way of doing this is as follows

Nadi Shodhana

Breathe in through right nostril while reciting "Aum" inwardly and

out through left (3 times)

Now reverse the nostril

Breathe in through left nostril while reciting "Aum" inwardly and

out through right (3 times)

Now through both nostrils

Breathe in through both left and right nostril while reciting "Aum" inwardly and

out through the mouth. (3 times)

Mantra Yoga- This done to clear etheric space in and around you.

Then begin your mantra. ( Note Gang is the Bija

of Lord Ganesha )

By doing all of the above you should be able to concentrate better during

practice.

"just simply japa. no rules for jap yagnya. any time any where."

I am so sorry to inform this view is not exactly a position you may wish to take, if you read Shiva Purana or any of the scriptures that deal with Japa e.g ( Mantra Mahaodadhi) you are advised to be still and to be concentrated. This is where you get real results with Japa, as the mantra is recited with concentration in a concentrated way. To do this for 1 hour will surpass 10 hours of reciting anytime, anywhere. All reciting anytime, anywhere does is to keep your mind engaged in the thought of the mantra but does little to produce the energy of the mantra as this is dissipated in all of your other activities. Therefore it is advised that you fix a time and place and do a small amount daily but with concentration and attention.

It is true, like jap in a jyotirling temple gives great power, i have

experienced this myself, Once i went to tryambakeshwar...it is one of

the places where the kumbh mela takes place, it means it one of the

places where amrit had fallen,........ next to the temple ...actually

behind there is a kund.....

now i have a 108 original rudraksha mala given to my friend by a sadhu

near a hanuman temple and he gave it to me, i might have got it just by

luck....or by destiny....that was 7 years ago....

once i took a dip in that kund behind tryambakeshwar temple wearing that

mala and did the jap with concentrated mind there it self of the maha

mrityunjaya mantra....it literally shook me...i mean i could feel

tremendous vibrations......although the mala is only of panchmukhi, six

mukhi and seven mukhi rudrakhsha........

..if you cant control it then kundalini maa...the serpent power, hakini, kakini,

rakini...etc....will totally destroy you.....

No they won't, even this simple Om Namah Sivaya has tremendous power within it and when it is done sufficiently well, will raise the Kundalini Shakti naturally. It is therefore essential to learn about it and to be able to control the power within. What I have given you are only the bare basics and will not cause you harm but will allow you to have a very pleasant and safe experience with mantras in general. I strongly advise you to read, learn and practice these.

When you recite mantras with an impure aura or if there are blockages in your chakras and nadis this can lead to severe bodily pains and in some instances disease. Therefore it is advisable to always practice after purifying yourself properly. I am a mantrin for last 20 years and do this no matter what.

Why say "only panch mukhi, six muhki and seven..." as if they are substandard. Don't belittle rudraksha like that. Panchmukhi is worn by more than anyone. 5 syllables, 5 faces.

Re: Help in doing jaap

It is true, like jap in a jyotirling temple gives great power, i have experienced this myself, Once i went to tryambakeshwar...it is one of the places where the kumbh mela takes place, it means it one of the places where amrit had fallen,........ next to the temple ...actually behind there is a kund.....

now i have a 108 original rudraksha mala given to my friend by a sadhu near a hanuman temple and he gave it to me, i might have got it just by luck.....or by destiny....that was 7 years ago....

once i took a dip in that kund behind tryambakeshwar temple wearing that mala and did the jap with concentrated mind there it self of the maha mrityunjaya mantra....it literally shook me...i mean i could feel tremendous vibrations......although the mala is only of panchmukhi, six mukhi and seven mukhi rudrakhsha........

Dear Sir,

I agree with you, but for a simple person to start chanting it is

better atleast they start chanting the mantras, slowly they can start

japa and concentration.

I am not an expert but want to share my humble experience, I hope it

might help others who have difficulty to start on mantras. Initially

I could not sit and concentrate and do japa, slowly I started

chanting mantras anytime I want and over the period I was amazed at

my ability to concentrate and do the japa.

Not only that when I understood the essence of the mantra, I was

chanting more through my heart and I was surprised that my heart was

chanting the mantra continuously with out me knowing and also I felt

the energy and power of lord Shiva in me.

The good thing about chanting mantras anytime is that we understand

the essence of the mantra and learn the connection the manrta has

with a particular deity and the healing purpose of the mantra.

It is a slow process, first I started with OM Namah Shivaya, and now

I chant a whole lot of mantras and sometimes I do japa with

concentration and mostly I chant whenever I want, but what I have

found is amazing, I found a lot of peace and confidence and above all

a divine connection.

Om namah shivaya,

Love and Light,

Divakar.

Sarvam sivam,

Dear Friends,

Of all the sathanas, Nama jabam is the best one. Choose your favourite deity's namam and root mantra, practice it so that, day and night each and every moment, u receit the nama/root mantra. When you do this for longer time, without your consciousness, you will be doing nama japa all the time.

Nama japa is the simplest and purest way to reach our father. Our Father himself proved this by many of his acts and all the siddhars and Nayanmars and devoties of our father insists nama japa is important.

Nama shivaya
