Sometime fish is said to be superior because fatty ocean fish also dha whichis important for the brain. But all humans have an enzyme that converts something in flax seed oil to dha inside the human body. Maybe try a google on vegan sources omega 3. There are other sources also. I use the oil 2 tbs. daily but I also use a lot of of flax seed meal as a as a protein source and get more oil that way as well. Vegans and veggies should take note of flax seed as a protein food. Over 100 gms of protein in each pound of protein mean. And it's cheap. Good in smoothies, as cereals or as toppings for other dishes or even spread out over a salad. I was unaware about the benefits of Flax Seed oil. I believe garlic is also good for the heart. Indians and westerners need to take care of their heart as heart disease it is the biggest health killer in their comminties.

For wine run a google on 'resveratrol wine grapes 'and you will see that you needn't drink wine to get the benefits. The benefits are in the grapes. You can even buy concentrated extracts of resveratrol.
Guest guest
The right proportion of omegas 3 to 6 is found in naturally in all hemp seed products such as hemp seed protein powder [best: lowest in fat], hemp seed meal, hemp seed butter, hemp seeds. For flax seed it is absorbed the best in flax seed meal. The tastiest is organic golden flax seed - sweet and nutty, somewhat like wheat germ. The brown flax seed meal is more bitter. Other sources of omegas are: nuts such as almonds, Brazil nuts, peanuts, pine nuts, and walnuts; sea vegetables such as arame, kombu, nori, and wakame; seeds such as pumpkin and sunflower; plus avocados and acai. To prevent prostate cancer it is important to avoid alcohol because it increases prolactin levels in the body. Red grapes contain polyphenols which are an anti-oxidant found in the skin and seeds of grapes. Purple grapes give anthocyans and phenolins. Juice these, eat raw, and/or buy pure grape concentrate and mix with water 7: 1 (water: concentrate). One Hindu acharya in the Saivite tradition says that it is okay to sometimes drink wine and beer with friends or in a convivial group moderately but never by yourself. The reason why it is allowed is it is viewed that soft alcohol products can unite people in harmony and can provide impetus for uplifting conversations. But this advice was given to a congregation that already has extremely strict cultural controls over their social and personal behavior. An example of how occasional social drinking in an extremely traditional cultural context can be combined with spirituality is in Japan sake or rice wine was seen as a gift from the gods and viewed as sacred. In fact in many indigenous cultures intoxicants were seen as a doorway to the Divine. The problem is most of us don't live in a traditional native culture with its concommitant restraints where on one hand we view alcohol as sacred and on the other hand the presence of wise elders reminds us to moderate activities to fit into community standards. We live in Kali Yuga where the modern equivalent of tribal leaders may be the worst addicts of all. Worst still, some of us live amongst peoples where the sexes freely mix and where brahmacharya is usually not observed by the dominant culture. Thus alcohol can easily be abused in modern culture or by people with alcohol addiction. As such, the same Hindu leader stated that those who have an addictive personality and problems with alcohol addiction should never drink at all. Alcohol is a depressant. It impairs the judgement. Check MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) to see the statistics of how many people are killed under its influence. It is a gateway drug to other less benign drugs. The problem is in Kali Yuga some people do not have enough restraint. In the research of the wine drinking only 2 glasses a day are advised. Excessive drinking causes the well-known and documented liver damage and brain damage of alcohol addiction plus birth defects in unborn children. Sadly not everyone has the restraint to drink only red wine and only two glasses a day. So perhaps just view alcohol as the drug that it is and think of it that some people can tolerate specific drugs and others have a bad reaction psychotic to same drugs. And some people don't need any drugs at all and while still others prefer to find a natural alternative to drugs. And some prefer to live drug-free: just a matter of individual preferences. I have never tried hemp before but I think I will order some protein powder and give it a go. I have been using the brownflax seeds. because they were cheaper but now I will try the golden. Is the difference in the processing or are they distinct strains of flax.? Which has higher nutritional value Guest?
