Guest guest
if a person has cancer, and is given less then a yr to live but they have gone past that yr and is feeling fine, but needs to know what time frame they r really looking at since the doctors were wrong in their evaluation, and the person has to get her will changed again since issues in her life have changed so drasticlly and she now knows what she wants to do with her assets and who they will go to. what is the easest way to caluate the timing \? i know that every house has 30 degress in it but, would y count those degress as days weeks months or yrs, and what house to look at to start your counting of the degress of the time she is looking at for her final stage here with us on this plane here on earth? do y look for saturn and pluto in the house it occupies and do y also look to the 8-4-6-12 houses? would y count the degress of the 30 degress in those houses and start by counting clockwise or counterclock wise, please make it as simple as possible for me as I am trying very despertaly to learn the vedic way and trying to not depend so much on the western way as for 35 yrs thats what all i have been acustomed to. please be gentle in response please, I thank you very so much, thank you again April
Guest guest
Dear April, Your question is not only very valid, but also illustrates the PRACTICAL need for focusing on this issue, which though unfortunate is a major major issue in current legal system in many countries, given the provision of "probate"! Many astrologers shy away from this area. However, if you have not, please see if you can find a copy of Richard Houck's book on this subject. I have personally not researched this area but have heard very good things about Late R.H.'s writings. His book on ashtakavarga is very lucidly written in a practical, matter of fact manner and I am sure his book on astrology of death and dying would meet your needs well. You sound like a very pragmatic person in your approach towards astrology. I wish you success and hope that you find the answers in jyotish. Guest guest
What is involved here is the calculation of life span and time of death, which, like all things in astrology, is not as simple and straightforward as it may sound. Normally as far as I know one has to first determine whether the life span is short (alpayu), medium (madhyayu) or long (purnayu), then determine which are the death-inflicting planets - these can be: Planets occupying 2nd or 7th house Lords of the 2nd or 7th house Planets that are conjunct to the 2nd or 7th Lords Then during the dasa of these planets death may occur. BV Raman also writes: "Add the longitudes of Saturn, Jupiter, the Sun and the Moon. This gives us a point in the zodiac after expunging multiples of 12. In case of short, middle or long life, death occurs when Saturn transits over this point, in his first, second or third cycles respectively." I'm not sure how that would work - what does "expunging multiples of 12" mean? Perhaps someone who knows this method could elucidate... Guest guest
expunging multiples of 12 is just serially subtracting 12 from the bottom line! If the answer is 13, then expunging 12 would give you a "1" If the answer is 25, the answer would be the same! It works the same way when you expunge multiples of 27, 108 and so on, commonly used in jyotish! It means if the aggregate degrees are more than 360* than it has to be divided by 12 [meaning 12 houses], the reminder indicates a sensitive point in a Rasi. Guest guest
Thank you for the explanation. I am trying to do this calculation: Sat - 173.55 Jup - 332.44 Sun - 209.37 Moon - 326.40 Total: 1041.76 divide by 12 = 86.813 86 x 12 = 1032 1041.76 - 1032 = 9.76 So what does the 9.76 mean in the chart? Guest guest
Namaste Ila, You are not just adding numerals; each figure represents degrees, minits and seconds. The following formula should be born in mind before you add. 60 Arc seconds (symbol “ ) = 1Arc minute ( symbol ‘ ), 60 Arc minute = 1 degree, 360 degrees = zodiac. On the basis of the above given formula you would get sum total as 1042*.16’. I do not understand the rational behind as to why Dr.B.V.Raman‘s book had suggested to expunge the sum total by 12, instead I think it should be read as “expunge by 360 degrees. If it were done as per my reasoning you would get a balance of 322.16 ie, to say Aquarius 22*16’ in other words the it falls on the first quarter of Poorvabhadra nakshtra.Instead if you follow the captioned book’s instructions you would get the reminder as 10.16 which means Aries10*16’[first quarter of Aswini nakshtra]. I am of the opinion that the book had wrongly suggested to expunge by 12 instead of by 360. I request the seniors to guide. Ila devi dasi MVS <ila_dd_mvs > wrote: Thank you for the explanation. Guest guest
Thank you! Well, your calculations seem to work for this chart! Try it and see - the person's details are: 14 June 1970 19:00 pm Sunday Pretoria, South Africa - 28E10, 15S45 He passed away on 25 March 1993, and according to your calculations Saturn was transiting Acquarius, which is correct, although the degrees do not seem to match exactly. Guest guest
Dear Sir, You said "I do not understand the rational behind as to why Dr.B.V.Raman‘ s book had suggested to expunge the sum total by 12, instead I think it should be read as 'expunge by 360 degrees'." It depedns on how you read the values for each planet. If one reads the values in house-degrees-minutes-seconds format, for example, for saturn at 173 degrees, one could record the value as 5-23-0-0. If data is used in this format, then expunging the multiples of 12 makes sense. Otherwise, what you have shown as expunging the multiples of 360 is also correct. Both will give the same result. Guest guest
Namaste, Ila. May Lord Ganesh remove all obstacles from your path and grant you peace and prosperity! Raman's (or any other writer's) directions to add the longitudes of Saturn, etc., imply that each longitude will be stated in terms of signs, degrees, and minutes; e.g., if Saturn is at 8 degrees, 27 minutes of Cancer, then this would be converted to 4 signs, 8 degrees, 27 minutes. Once the sum of two (or more) longitudes is performed, the result may give a number of signs equal to or greater than 12. Since there are only 12 signs in the (solar) zodiac, one would subtract 12 from the sum until the number of signs is less than or equal to 12. If zero is the result, then a value of 12 is used.referencing Pisces or Meena. The values of 1 to 11 for the sign is converted back to 'Aries' (Mesha) to 'Aquarius' (Kumbha). Likewise, if the number of degrees exceeds 30, then one must subtract 30 AND add one to the sign count until a value less than 30 is obtained. For minutes, 60 must be subtracted in a similar manner. Please let me know if this is not clear.or ask questions; and I will do my best to answer them. Namaste, David LaGrone P. O. Guest guest
Dear friend, The expunging 12 means expunging 12 signs. 12sign means 30*12=360. When the expression is in signs then expunge 12. When expression is in degree, expunge 360. Both are correct. --- Ila devi dasi MVS <ila_dd_mvs > wrote: > Thank you! > > Well, your calculations seem to work for this > chart!
