This Yogi takes Vedic science to East & West

Smriti Malaviya

Allahabad, January 16

THE VEDIC science which has ruled the life and behaviour of millions

of Indian people since thousands of years will now radiate the life

of students of Asian and American countries.

This extraordinary mission has been launched by Hathyogi

Dr 'Yogishri' Balakrishnanji of Singapore. Fondly called as 'guruji',

Balakrishnanji has done immense research on the temples in South

India and has come out with some amazing facts.

"Every temple in the South India depicts the human body, both

internal and external. These temples were apparently constructed to

save the human race. It motivates people to take care of their body

and treat it like a temple," said Dr Balakrishnanji.

"The South Indian temples are divided into seven chakras just like

seven chakras in human body. The Kumbh is placed on the highest point

of temple is human 'kapal' or skull, leaves of mango are hair and the

pillars and designs on it is 72,000 veins. All these temples were

constructed with a logic, which is missing in the temples in America

and other Asian countries," he added.

Dr Balakrishnanji said the temples were divided into seven chakras

including swadhishthan, manipura, anahata, vishuddha, agnay,

sahasrara and soma. "For instance Anathatam Chakra is connected

physiologically with the heart plexus of nerves.

It is depicted as a twelve-petalled lotus, green in colour with a

six pointed star and compassion and the ability to overcome fate. In

the writings of the Siddhas, anahata is said to be where one's

thoughts and desires are fulfilled.

With its awakening one becomes a master over the situations in his

life," he said.

Dr Balakrishnanji has written over 50 books on Yoga, vegetarian Yoga

food, Ganesha and its various Swaroops (forms). Overcoming the

language barriers he has taught Yoga to students in Taiwan, Japan,

London and South Indian states in India. "I am practicing Yoga for

the past 35 years and see how fit I am. Yoga has taught me to never

lose the patience," he said.

Dr Balakrishnanji said that every Indian has immense potential to

grow in his life and survive in extreme conditions. "The Vedic

science of our seers was so advance that it guided all the activities

of human life. But we have almost forgotten it. That is why I decided

to translate Veda into English so that it could enlighten the life of

millions of students in America and other countries," he said.

Dr Balakrsihnanji said he has already completed two English editions

of Vedas. A total of 50 books consisting of 500 pages would be

compiled, he informed.
