Om Derick, mantras are holy syllables with sacred vibrations. Hence

when one recites or plays CDs of the same mantras over and over

everyday, they are bound to resound or resonate within the walls of the

home and within the person whose inner ear has obviously picked up the

sounds and vibrations on a subconscious level. Yes what you've

described happens :)

There was once a police chief in India who went to a guru to ask for a

mantra. The guru took him to a room where he himself had meditated

everyday continuously. He told the police chief to chant whatever

mantra he can hear in the room, closed the door and left the guy to it.

The police guy heard the exact mantra as if it was bouncing off the

walls and meditated on it. This is a true story that has appeared in

publications of one of the world's most famous MahaGurus but due to my

poor mental recollection, I cannot recall whether who it is, whether

its Sri Sivananda, Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Ramana Maharshi or someone

else. Perhaps someone who knows, can refresh my memory, thanks.
