Guest guest
Thanks, Pradeep, for your comment. I am glad you've enjoyed the 'Inner Voice'. Thought for today....Subhashitam Namaste all. I have heard some explanations of a few 'Subhashitamulu'(Words of Wisdom) on T.V. during my recent tour in South India. Like to share a couple of them. A wise person should always be contented in these three things and never feel satisfied with three other things for his/her spiritual advancement. The three things in which one should feel satisfied: With one's Spouse - naturally this helps one to control 'Kama', lusty desires and illicit affairs. With one's Meal - this prevents over-indulgence in food and the consequent diseases due to overeating. In one's Wealth - this also aids the spiritual seeker to use his/her life wisely in divine pursuits instead of struggling to become millionaire by accumulating wealth. Things that one should not be satisfied with: Charity - Never to think we have given enough donations, aid and support to poor and less fortunate people. Always try to give more and more.. Austerity and Knowledge - The Aspirants should not feel that they have done enough spiritual sadhana and have aquired the total required knowledge in all religious matters since there is always room to learn more. Prayer and Worship - Thirdly one should never be contented in one's devotional service and in one's efforts to serve God and Saints. Always keep the feeling of discontent that it is not at all enough and one could do more and more divine service ... _______________________ The distance one should maintain from different moving objects or animals used as locomotives, such as carriage, horse, elephant etc., If one is approaching a moving carriage, one should atleast be ten feet (apprximately) away from the moving carriage. If one is approaching a moving horse, one should maintain atleast 100 feet distance away from the horse. If one is approaching a moving elephant, one should be atleast 1000 feet away from that huge animal since we cannot know its mood and temperment. Finally, apart from all these situations, if one is approaching a bad, wicked, violent person, one should maintain such a distance that one cannot even be visible to this cruel personality. Escape from that individual immediately! Since the bad persons hurt others by their looks, gestures, words and deeds, it is always wise to avoid their association. It is important never to come even into their visual field as much as possible. A moving vehicle (carriage) or a running horse or the powerful, great elephant could hurt and do some damage to the person on their way but a wicked, sinful individual is worse than all these combined together and could hurt the other person in many unimaginable ways. That is why it is wise to avoid coming even into the vicinity of such a bad person. I hope my (crude) translations are useful to remember for all spiritual aspirants. Dr. Jaya Jaya Sri Radhey!
