Comments on my reading please........

Pranaam & Namaskar.

This is my first mail to the list. I developed an interest in Vedic astrology in the year 1994 and since then have reading a variety of books to satiate my curiosity and inner desire to absorb knowledge. However my limited knowledge and absence of a guru has resulted in a knowledge which is not very structured in my mind.

I present the horoscope of my son whose particulars are given below for your kind consideration. I have tried to read the horoscope and have presented my views too. However, a few doubts in my mind remain and I would like to have your comments and that of the learned members of the list on them. I would be happy if the relevant Sutra/Verse from the Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra is mentioned as a reference.

Date of Birth: 12 January 1999

Time of Birth: 1207 h (Afternoon)

Place of birth: Delhi Cantonment, India (77 E 7' 54'' 28 N 36' 6'')

My readings are as follows:-

1. A first look of the horoscope reveals that the Lagna is Aires which is about 1? (just rising). The Lagna is occupied by Neech Saturn who has Neech Bhanga from Venus. The Moon, a benefic has Graha dristi on the Lagna (Seventh Aspect). Mars, a malefic, placed in the sixth house, has graha dristi on the Lagna. This would however protect the Lagna as Mars is the Lagna lord. Incidentally Mars also is Vargotamma. Placement of the Lagna lord Mars in the sixth house and the sixth lord Mercury having Rasi dristi on the lagna lord Mars gives Dhimantah yoga which will cause the native to put in effort and strive to acquire knowledge. Similarly there is Dhimantah yoga from the Arudha Lagna (Saturn in third house (Aires) from Arudha Lagna and Mars aspecting Saturn) also.

The significations of the First House will suffer during periods of Saturn but the native will have relief during sub-periods of Venus (Planet causing Neech Bhanga to Saturn).

The Navamsa Lagna is also Aires which means that the Lagna is Vargotamma and the Lagna gains strength. However the placement of Neech Saturn in the Navamsa Lagna confirms the debility of Saturn which could cause problems in his Maha Dasa/ Antar Dasa to the first house significations.

2. The Arudha Lagna is in Aquarius. The Arudha Lagna has the Rasi dristi of Moon, Neech Saturn and Rahu. Also Jupiter is placed in Arudha Lagna. The placement of Jupiter in Arudha Lagna and the aspect of Moon are considered good for the Arudha which is the projection of the Lagna in the world. However malefic influences of Neech Saturn and Rahu will be detrimental to this image and their effect would be seen in their Maha Dasa/ Antara Dasa, particularly that of Rahu which may try to wean the native from the path of Dharma.

3. The fifth lord is the Sun and is Vargotamma too. He is placed in the Ninth House and this strengthens both the fifth and ninth houses. Moreover, Sun is in the Rasi of Jupiter which is its friend. The Ninth lord Jupiter is in the Eleventh house, the house of gains. This means that the ninth house is fairly strong.

4. The tenth house and the eleventh house lord is Saturn which aspects the tenth house, but being Neech may not be able to enhance/ protect the significations of the tenth house.

I would like to know the following:-

1. I would like to know whether my reading is right. Any comments from learned people are welcome.

2. I wish that that the native could do his undergraduate engineering studies abroad. I would like to know whether the native will study any form of engineering in a foreign country. If there is any combination in his chart which indicates that please let me know.

3. Is there a requirement to strengthen Venus which causes Neech Bhanga of Saturn by wearing its gemstone Diamond or a substitute White Coral? I am concerned about Neech Saturn because Saturn's Maha Dasa has begun on 03 Nov 06.

4. The planets Sun, Moon, Mars, Jupiter and Rahu ...all are placed more than 26 degrees. In fact Mars is at 29 degrees 56' and Jupiter is at 29 degrees 53' at the very end of the Rasi. (Rasi Sandhi?) What is the significance as far as their strength to do good/ evil is concerned?
