Hi,

My name is Ketan. I am a follower of Ayurvedic way of life. I am

located in Pune, India.

For the past one and half years I am taking MAHAMANJISTHADI KADHA as

instructed by my Ayurvedic Doctor.

Now I will be relocating to China for a year or so.I will be most

probably put up in Shenzhen or Hongkong.

Do we get Ayurvedic Medicines in China? If yes, do we get the same

brands such as Sandu, Baidyanath, etc. Will I get MAHAMANJISTHADI

KADHA in China? Also let me know whether there are any Indian

Ayurvedic doctors in China.

Kindly let me know. I would be really greatful if you could help me

with this.

Regards,

Ketan

hi ketan,

i haven't been to china but we do have a very large chinese community

in vancouver, and i can tell you there is very little if any exposure

to indian culture in the chinese community, although you may find

many subtle and obvious similarities

don't forget that china has its own system of traditional medicine,

and in many respects, is far ahead of ayurveda in terms of public

acceptance, government support and integration with conventional

medicine

the chance of you finding specific ayurvedic brands in china is about

zero, considering the HUGE market for chinese herbs (much, much

bigger than ayurveda)

but it may be an interesting opportunity to learn about chinese

herbal medicine - some of the same herbs are used (in particular, the

various endangered himalayan species like kushta and katuki)

an excellent book to take with you is the 3rd edition of Bensky and

Gamble's "Chinese Herbal Medicine"

good luck!
