Guest guest
Dear Sweet Friend: It appears you are well suited to both careers. The MBA, however, may be the best choice. Sun, ruling your tenth house of career, is well placed in the eleventh house of gains, so there is a possibility of rising high in life and having good friends in positions of authority. Mercury, ruling finance and business, is exalted and well placed in the eleventh house, so you can earn income from these activities, along with writing and communications. Venus can also contribute to the financial and computer science, but it is debilitated, and may not give much support in these areas or in foreign lands and ventures. Doing charities for women, being devoted to your wife, and performing Lakshmi puja on Fridays may be helpful for Venus. Mars, ruling the sixth house, is placed in the first house of self and reputation. (The sixth house can be connected with finance and accounting.) Jupiter, ruling education, along with your second house of wealth and status, is weak on account of its placement in the twelfh house, so the yellow sapphire gemstone will help with these areas, along with having a male child and good family life. Additionally, a blue sapphire gemstone may help with your home life, property, and domestic peace. Best wishes, David Hawthorne, M.S., J.B. 508 N. Computer science might be the slightly better of the two options but be prepared for a drawn-out slog. Your 4th lord is exalted but in 8th and Mercury has a very intriguing neechabhanga, being in roundabout ways deb and exalted in D-1 and D-9 respectively. You're running a Merc pratyantara, which can make for a good start to higher education, but how that progresses is another matter. If you've to wear any gemstone at all, wear that of Ketu (cat's eye?) on your right hand ring finger. You'll generally find lots of cheer in 2009 and 2010. The combination of the 4th and 9th lords in 8th indicates either a chronically ailing father or that you lost him early on in life (God forbid). How accurate is the birth time? I'll know if you told me something about your relationship with your parents - in particular whether you lost your father early on in life (I hope I'm wrong) or whether he's been ailing with a deep-seated affliction. If generally there hasn't been much support as such from your parents, including a strained relationship, let me know if that isn't too personal for public disclosure. It isn't. If even a very few practitioners get it completely right all the time, astrology is a science. Period. How to document that and help everyone else wishing to get to that level is another matter but it's a science regardless. I'd prefer to leave out the 'divine' until we achieve some credibility first because unlike religion, we aren't using astrology for emotional support. Guest guest
Dear David, I'm good, thanks; hope you've been too. I think we both have the same chart but with some little interpretive differences. For a start, I'm in the minority insofar as the lordship of nodes is concerned and do consider Ra and Ke owning Aq and Sc in some circumstances. In the subject chart, both the nodes get lordships, thus the prognosis. I also consider Ge and Sg the exaltation signs of the nodes, unlike the majority that do Ta and Sc. It's just something that my astrology mentor taught me, that's all, and I wouldn't be able to cite a classical reference in defense of it. Moon, the badhaka, atmakaraka and lord of the paternal significator rasi (9th) is in an unfriendly house, marana avastha and 8th. It could mean any of the things I thought about his dad or tell on the subject's righteous tendencies. Rahu gets lordship of the maternal significator rasi (4th) and is exalted in 8th, indicating a pretty powerful maternal curse. 4th and 9th lords in 8th is not what you'd want to be born with. Fortuitously, Jupiter is in trines to Gemini. Do let me know whether I'm at least on the right lines here Cheers, Ramapriya On 1/5/07, David Hawthorne <david (AT) iipa (DOT) net> wrote: > > dear respected ramapriya... > > hello... Guest guest
dear ramapriya... thank you for taking the time to respond. no problem. apparently we are using two different paradigms. i consider the exaltation signs of Rahu and Ketu to be Taurus and Scorpio, as per Maharishi Parashara. that is why i was confused when you said the fourth lord was exalted in the eighth. indeed, saturn is the fourth lord, and it is exalted, but it is in the twelfth. i did not realize you were considering rahu as ruling the fourth house. your paradigm probably works for you, and mine seems to work for me. as long as we have some ability to help others is the main thing. it may be that the divine science of jyotisha is supreme enough to work, even with different schools of thought. especially if the astrologer is well-meaning, intelligent, compassionate, and maintains purity in his or her own life. best wishes to you and yours, david hawthorne - D Ramapriya Thursday, January 04, 2007 10:03 PM Re: help needed urgently regarding studies Dear David, I'm good, thanks; hope you've been too.
