Guest guest
Dear One, Following is the very useful Question and Answers session conducted by Sri Swamiji at Malaysia Ashrama on 30.3.2001- Friday. The session was compiled by Shri HV Prasad Garu on 30.3.01. Jaya Guru Datta With Best Regards, P.Lakshmi Prasad Hyderabad Don't create questions. If you don't have doubts or questions, don't agitate your mind and create them and cause problems to you. - Sri Swamiji. Q- Can ladies wear Rudraaksha Mala? A- If they have received Shiva Mantra as Upadesha from Guru, then only they can wear. Otherwise they can wear Tulasi bead Mala or Sphatika (crystal) Mala. Rudraaksha, Bhadraakshi, Chidrakshi are varieties of them. In them they have from one face to nineteen faces. One faced or Eka Mukhi Rudraakshi is very difficult to find. It is available in Nepal, Bhutan and Indonesia. Nepal ones are the best. They are Shiva Himself. Swamiji's Mala has 108 Eka Mukhi Rudrakshas. Even wearing different faced ones have restrictions. One face is very good for Mesha and Vrushabha Raashis. If you wear Rudraaksha Mala according to your constellation or zodiac signs, it is good. For ladies Sphatika Mala (crystal) is advised. Because it represents Mother Goddess. It also has healing qualities. Old ladies who have crossed (finished) the menstrual cycle can wear them. Q - Why is there life on earth and why are we born and what are we doing here? Why is there Karma? If God knows everything, why did he not make all things good and why did he put evil things? A- If you had read Datta Darshanam, which has been published in many languages, these questions would not have come. Many of you have not read Datta Darshanam. Even regular Bhakti Mala reading clears many such doubts. The answer is, since time immemorial, the creator Brahma noticed that the Ananta Jeeva Raashis were in the space. He poured life and mobility to them and said they should attempt to go to Go Lokam or Brahma Lokam. For e.g., the light bulb on the ceiling. To understand that, light aids us to see and to get that understanding needs some systematic experience. The cow eats Grass and gives us milk, which has ghee, butter, curd etc., We cannot take these directly from grass. It needs a cow to do it. At least it is not possible in India. I don't know if it happens in Malaysia. There is a process involved.. The beings were stuck in space like glittering gold dust. We were there since time started. Brahma in his infinite grace decided that life to start needs mechanism. That is why he created this Karma system. At first he created the concept of Guru. That was Dattatreya. It was needed to have a leader first. It is like giving multi vitamins along with anti biotic. If you take such antibiotics without multi vitamins, these antibiotics kill good germs also. So, these multi vitamins keep these good germs in good condition. This also avoids anti and bad reaction inside. Once Brahma put this system in place, the evolution started. The life system slowly evolved. But the human kind decided to dump the Gurus and lead an independent and reckless life. So, if you with the help of Guru lead your life as advised, then Brahma will take you through a short cut to his world. It is like sewage water and clean water. The sewer water needs proper distillation method like sun rays to clean it and the water evaporates and becomes a cloud and falls down so that you may drink it. This cleaning process is still going on. You all have so many chances in life and we close our eyes when opportunities exist. I don't say you should all give up families and lead an ascetic life. It is not possible. But at least start the enquiry why you are born. Brahma is compassionate. He has given us this great opportunity. Make use of this birth. Q - A- The rules and regulations in Hindu Dharma are quite complex. It is not difficult. Hindu Dharma is not a correct term. It is Human Dharma. Dharma is not rules and regulations. Dharma means leading a life or path of good principles is Dharma. In these modern Yuga, life is busy yet lazy. For such Hindus what to do? How to lead a Dharmic life? Is there a middle path? The answer is easy. The important Dharmic principles are – Be truthful, give up jealousy. Have a broad and humanitarian outlook, Give up narrow out look. Follow your lifestyle or rituals in your personal life. But in public, don't impose or follow it. It is an offence. Don't hurt those who are dependent on you. Like parents. You must respect and love them. They are the reason for your presence in the world. Never hurt them by rubbing your principles on them. Beg and request. Be understanding. Whenever you get time, read Bhagavad Gita. Understand it. It has many examples and answers to your life problems. TV is the greatest yet difficult medium in the present age. A few years ago, spiritual programme on TV in India was unheard of. But these days 85 % of them also broadcast spiritual and morally uplifting Programmes. Perform 10 min.. meditation every day. You all have the added benefit of having a Sadguru. Don't give it up. Be patriotic to the country you live in. Praising the country of birth and criticising the country you live is a great injustice. It is like living in a friend's house and criticising him. How can that be? It is an offence and it is wrong. You all have been living in Malaysia for a long time. So, love this nation and respect it and worship it. We all are the children of Malaysia. Never discriminate between nations or races. Do whatever you want in your house. Follow Swadharma to its core. But in public society, serve the humanity and have a broad and universal outlook. This is the real Hindu Dharma. Q -Two days ago you spoke out about our pains and pleasures and the sins and previous Karmas. Because we have our Sadguru, he is cleansing us every minute of the day. We commit sins and he constantly cleans us. Are we committing sins as our incapacity to control our self or due to our Karma? A - The question is wrong. Your sins is not washed or taken by him. The Guru just directs you to cleanse yourself of the pains of taints of Karma. You have to come to such grace to get directions. Statements made by Swamiji depend of the occasion and reference to the subject he is then speaking. Don't interpolate texts from different occasions. There is no mass cleaning. Only mass praying or mass training is possible. Q - How to be in tune with Swamiji constantly. A- How are you in tune with your breath? Did someone teach you? It is a natural process. Tune Swamiji with your inhalations and exhalations. You have Vishvaasa (confidence) on your Shvaasa (respiration). It is a great and good Sadhana. Some don't have any questions. RRK Moorthy once upon a time was a question master. He has mellowed and understood and he is question less now. That also is a great progress in the path of spirituality. It could also mean Atmaarpana to Swamiji. Once you do Atmaarpana to Sri Swamiji, then the questions stop. He has experienced Swamiji for 20 years and the questions and doubts have stopped. Q -What is the consequences of the recent cloning technology? Is it mentioned in the Indian scripture? A - Systems similar to cloning do appear in ancient scriptures also. There is no doubt that a being born out of cloning has a soul. The products of human cloning are technically 'human'. But, our Sages decided that this branch of science is not conducive for the betterment of human evolution and hence they have discouraged this. The present day scientists would do well to heed to this advice. Jaya Guru Datta P.
