Guest guest Report post Posted December 26, 2006 Hi everyone, I'm new to the group. I started going to the Shri Maha Kali Devi Mandir in New York and love it. Although I was born into the Madras religion I never practiced. Can someone give me a little information on Sangini Baba, Kateri Mai and Master Kal Bhiro. Also I noticed there are a lot of people who "play" at my church... does anyone know the reason for this? Why do some people "play" one week and not the other"? Why are most of them young females? Guest guest Report post Posted December 26, 2006 There are about 50 Kali Mai Mandirs in New York City. Specifically the one I go to is the Shri Maha Kali Devi Mandir located in Brooklyn. There's also the Shree Maha Kali mandir in Jamaica, NY. What I mean by 'playing' is when the Kali puja is being done some people will get up (as if in a trance) and dance. This mostly happens when pujas are being done for Kali Mai, Kateri Mai, Sangani Baba and Master Kal Bhiro. I believe it happens partially because of the drums being played when certain mantras are chanted.
