Guest guest
Ayurveda in Vata diseases Today majority of people suffers from Neck-pain, back pain, headache, joint (especially knee joint) pain etc. Even though pain are of different kinds, the main cause of pain according to Ayurveda is “VATA”. one of the 3 “DOSHAS”, in normal stage Regulates normal Movements in the body. When it is deranged, it will produce various types of symptoms like. Numbness, pricking pain, cutting pain, stiffness, obstructive pain, severe excruciating pain, wasting of muscles, pulsative pain. Tremors, bitter taste in mouth, dryness of body and in severe condition loss of body functions as in paralysis. When VATA increased in head patient suffers from severe headache; mental irritations, disturbed sleep, neck stiffness, etc. Majority of people consult the doctor when they have these one of the symptoms In Neck, back , knee joint or in head. In the beginning patients take pain-reliving pills, some time the pain may subside. But the same episode of pain will come when the drug action is over in the body. That time Doctors will advice to take rest, (or) Physiotherapy (or) in severe conditions bone operations etc. But Ayurveda considers controlling Vata in the Main line of treatment by external and internal Medicines. Being Vata is dry in Nature, applications of herbal juices & oils(ie SNEHANAM) is necessary, after that administrating SWEDANAM i.e. steam bath. By this, the obstructed passage of VATA is removed and this regulates the Movements. By this, stiffness, pain, numbness everything will be removed. After that internal medicines advised to strengthen the Nerves and Muscles, to improve the body immunity power. Dr.S.Ananthanarayan.
