DOB: June 25, 1985 TOB: 10:56 am Place: 74E52, 34N42 I donot find any symptom of the disability in her chart. Please help me confirm the same so that I treat the particulars as incorrect. Also, one should look at natural 2nd house Taurus and natural 3rd house Gemini. In addition, the state of Karaka Budha. In the chart that you have given, I see the following: - There is a concentration of malefics in Gemini: Sun, Mars and afflicted Mercury. - Natural 2nd house Taurus is under Papakartari Yoga. This house is getting Rasi drishti of Saturn and Ketu as well. - From lagna also, the third house is afflicted by Saturn (6th lord) and Ketu and aspected by Rahu. - The second lord Mercury (and the Karaka) is severely afflicted as explained above. - Third lord Sukra is in close conjunction with Rahu and aspected by 6th lord saturn. Hence, I guess there are enough indications about the problem. Here we see curse of Uncle. Buddha is AK and Lagnesh is involved. As Lagnesh and AK Vargotam are there it will be health issues. Eleventh bhava shows hearing while 6L + Malefic is in third bhava. Now for this Parasara say that Sani must have malefic aspects and 6L must yuti benefic for wholelife disease - here this dictum is seen especially in Prakrti Bhavas (aspected by Lagna - Rasi drsti). Jupiter karaka for hearing is 8L and debilitated and Vakri in dusthana! (Kharesh from Lagna in D9). We must observe two things: 2L from AL is cursed while 7H from AL has terrible Pitri dosha. Now we have - 3rd house, 11th house and 7th house all to looked at for problems related to hearing. Which one should be considered as the most important as the primary indicator? What is the role of the 7th house in hearing related problem? Please clarify. I am however perplexed at the absence of a strong indication in the chart manifest for this disability. There is no affliction to Mercury one would have expected. On the contrary, it is nicely placed with Sun having a Budh-Aditya yog besides being vargottam leading one to think the subject is high on Mercury effects. As for hearing, one goes by the third house, its lord placed in the best considered dharam sthana, it is difficult to think of any hearing problem either. I am sure if this chart had been put up as a puzzle, it would have been difficult to come out with the disability. There is another reason, i was in doubt about the correctness of the birth particulars. The girls mother died some seven years back in a car accident, which also doesnt get reflected in the chart. By the way, the coordinates given by you are of a place roughly 19 km from Srinagar, Kashmir so taking +5h30 as the timezone, I get Simha Lagna with Chandra in 2nd house. Deafness: As you can see from replies, 3rd house shows ears while the 9th from 3rd house shows the function of that indicated body part i.e., the 11th house. In the same vein, Jaimini Maharishi says that 12th house shows smell, being 9th from the 4th house which indicates the nose. Check for afflictions to these houses as well as note the drekkana of the concerned planets to confirm that the affliction is to ears. Check Guru who is the karaka for hearing. 7th house being 5th from the 3rd house will show how the hearing loss stabilizes over the lifespan i.e., whether it improves or detiorates with passage of time. Dumbness: Usually this arises because of the deafness. Mercury is the karaka for speech and the 2nd & 10th houses can be checked for speech (as also eyes). It is not necessary that one who is deaf is dumb as well and a crucial factor in such cases would be the educational scenario. If the girl has been admitted to a school which believes sign language is the best policy for such cases, then the power of speech atrophies or is not developed further. In the chart, Mercury is in 11th & own house while Guru is vakra in debilitation rasi but gains neechabhanga by virtue of exalted navamsa. So there must be some residual hearing left and I hope the girl is wearing a suitable hearing aid (Mercury again). Since a benefic is in 2nd house, I think the girl can speak albeit not very cogently (speech impaired). Ears are very important sense organs of our body, associated with the sense of hearing. In a Nativity, the 3rd house and sign Gemini (3rd house of natural zodiac) are connected with hearing; and Aakash Tatva, governed by Jupiter, is responsible for manifesting the Sound, which the ears can hear b.. The 2nd house and sign Taurus (the 2nd house of natural zodiac) is connected with organs of speech (Larynx and Vocal Cords etc). The 2nd house governs throat region and "Speech." Affliction to 2nd house and 2nd lord can cause impaired speech c.. Third house of the natural zodiac and its lord, that is, Sign Gemini and Mercury should also be considered. d.. Affliction to 3rd house and 3rd lord and sign Gemini can cause affliction to hearing e.. Mercury governs the nervous system and nerves. f.. Damage to speech and hearing is due to sensory loss or afflicted nerves responsible for these functions. And finally, Lagna and Lagna-lord should be associated with these afflictions. Now I would share a few combinations from Texts. 1.. Jatak Tatwaa a.. Deafness- If Mercury is 4 th from Saturn, and lord of VI th is in own house, in 8th or 12 th, the native will be hard of hearing. Another Translator translates it -If Mercury is in 4 th from Saturn and 6 L is in Trik, Native is deaf. b.. If the full moon and Venus conjoin their respective enemies , the native shall be deaf. c.. Another translation says Full moon and Venus are with enemies, it is night birth and Mercury is in VI and Venus is in V, native is deaf. d.. If Venus an Mercury is in XII , The native will suffer from Hearing defect in left Ear. e.. If Merc and lord of Vi house are aspected by a malefic, The native shall suffer from hard of hearing. f.. If Malefics occupy the Third , XI,V , IX and are not aspected by Benefics, the native will suffer from Deafness. 2 . Saravali Ch 8 Sloka 68-69 · Moon with malefics is in III, Asc, XI and aspected by Malefics. · V and IX have malefics and also aspects of Malefics a.. DUNBNESS- When Mercury is in cancer, Scorpio Or Pisces and is aspected by MOON when in Adrishya Golard in Day Birth, the native shall be DUMB. b.. When Mercand/Jup and 6L are in Ascendant, the native is Dumb. c.. I was trying to see any major common traits in these charts. Two of the charts have mercury conjunct with two malefics; sun and mars. Three others have mercury as vargottam. I was trying to see any major common traits in these charts. Two of the charts have mercury conjunct with two malefics; sun and mars. Three others have mercury as vargottam.
