need information about Margali month!

Vanakam everyone,

 

I need some explanation and hope someone could guide me on the matter.

As long as I know Kartika month is specially for Lord Murugan

Can i know what the Margali month special for?

For which god is it and what types of prayer one should do?

When, I asked a friend of mine, she told me that its special month for god Amman

and the unmarried girls have to do prayers early in the morning to get good husband.

 

Can some one help me to light me with more info on the prayer?

Vanakkam to you too. Margasira/Margazhi is special for ALL religious and spiritual activities. Lord Krishna in BG says that of all the months he is Margazhi-actually the sanskrit equivalent of it. The month is known as "peedu udai maadham" in Tamil, meaning great month. In all Vaishnavite temples of Tamil Nadu, they sing Aandaall's Thiruppavai first thing in the morning. Similarly in all Shiva temples, they sing Thiruvempaavai. Both urge the girls to get up early, to rush to pray, Krishna and Siva respectively, implicitly or explicitly stating that unmarried girls would get noble husbands etc. In fact, Thiruppavai starts with "Margazhi Thingall Mathi Niraindha Nannallal" meaning the month Margazhi is auspicious, therefore...

You can find the songs, free MP3 for thiruppavai (may be for the other one too) thru google.

Unfortunately, I do not know the special prayers in other languages specifically related to the month Margasira.

I've managed to get the english version of thirupavai on the net

And i'm just reading one thirupavai every morning.

But I didnt find out the thiruvempavai and also the mp3 for both to download.
