Guest guest
Greetings all, I have seen many murtis (usually of Ganesha) for sale in gemstone material. I was wondering, when selecting such a murti for worship, would it be more appropriate to select one of a material related to a benefic planet, or to a malefic planet? I know that for wearing a gemstone, one should use the gems of beneficial planets, but is worship more like wearing, or more like donating? Also, an unrelated question: does it matter on which finger one wears a navratna? Thank you, Bryon Smith
Guest guest
Hi Bryon, Namaste!!! If you are going to use a carved "murti" the best is red coral for Ganesha. But generally speaking, a gem material acts regardless of shape or cut. If a bad quality it will act bad to all, regardless of deity form. If the material is Jyotish quality then it's best to use a gem material which is anukul to the horoscope of the devotee doing puja.
