Guest guest
Dear List, Just sharing something interesting ~ at least very much so to me. Earlier in the month I saw an owl just outside, in my yard during the day. I so appreciated it. Then this week when driving towards DC in a major traffic area, I glanced over to see an owl move from a tree to the grass between the two opposite car lanes. As well as the special feeling felt with the chance to see these beautiful birds, it also stirred my interest that I would see (two!) owls in the daylight within such a short time. Today as Ketu is in transit at less than one degree of my ascendant, I was again studying Ketu. Amazingly, a website gave the following: "Ketu is especially affiliated with the owl." I had not heard this before, but considering this, it does make deep sense considering all regarding owls, and also their habits, as well as the common thoughts/beliefs we attribute to owls. So, it seems a gift of the transit ;-) With kindest regards, Patrice PS: I know in some cultures, the owl is seen as a sign of a death coming. There are different views throughout the world and in different cultures. And many views are auspicious, not only these beliefs as a kind of funerary bird known in Roman culture as well as some other cultures, which may or may not stem via the Roman beliefs.. In Babylon, owl amulets were used to protect pregnant women.
Guest guest
I just saw another reference stating that in India, owls are identified with the Goddess of Wealth, Lakshmi, and due to the association with Lakshmi, also Diwali. It also states when Lakshmi travels alone, without Vishnu, she travels on an owl - when she travels with Vishnu they travel on the eagle Garuda. _____ Dear List, Just sharing something interesting ~ at least very much so to me. Guest guest
Dear Patrice, According to Saravali (Planetary Indications Ch.7: 7-13), birds are ruled by Mercury? You were running P/D of Mercury up to 7th Dec., and, interestingly, natal Mercury occupies nakshatra of Ketu. Guest guest
Hi Wendy, Nice to see you here. Yes, this is interesting, thanks for your note. I had not ever read this regarding Ketu and owls but found it at "circlesoflight" website, which I just landed upon after putting Ketu in a search engine - while looking for more and more insights into Ketu. Using my book I rely on so often here, it gives for owls: Moon, Mars and Saturn, not mentioning Ketu. Thank you for sharing for birds in general. My book here doesn't list for birds. I think using our understanding, Ketu does indeed make sense for owls. This led me down some other research regarding mythology on owls, which was very helpful this week while I was away visiting my husband's family due to his sister's hospitalization. It's intriguing how things work out. What you've said below adds to this given that my 5H Mercury is in Ketu's star.. as well as Ketu itself. This is interesting Wendy. Thanks. I hope you are enjoying the season. Christmas now just 7 days away. Kindest wishes, Patrice _____ Dear Patrice, According to Saravali (Planetary Indications Ch.7: 7-13), birds are ruled by Mercury?
