Namaste,

I have a couple of Yantras and I am at a loss as to how to use them for maximum benefit. Can you please provide a brief 'How To' on Yantras. Here are some questions I have:

1. Which direction should Yantras be placed? Can a Yantra be placed on the altar with other Deities?

2. Can Yantras be framed and hung on walls or should be left in the 'as-is' state (just the copper plate)?

3. Should Yantras be cleaned regularly? Or on festival days? If so what is the procedure?

4. How should one pray with Yantras? Chant any mantras? What is the process?

Any other information is also welcome.

RBSC : something I've noticed with yantras

Namaste Michael, wonderful to hear your inner shakti responds to

yantras. This is a good sign of spiritual growth. Indeed they are

layers of subconscious awareness and energies waiting to be unraveled

as all primal shapes of yantras are psychological symbols corresponding

to inner states of human consciousness. Encouraging you to perform

regular worship - with time your yantras shed dormancy to act as

emblems of psychic energies, thus moving beyond "form" and "function",

becoming "Shakti-rupa" (power diagram). When a person is spiritually

enlightened, he/she may well become a "walking yantra" (so to speak).
