Guest guest
Hi there group … If at all possible I would like to see a discussion on the predictions of the Mayans from a Joytish point of view… I hear the Mayans have been pretty accurate with their predictions… I also so hear that they have predicted the end of the world somewhere at the end of 2011 or the beginning of 2012. Some believe that this prediction is the end of the human consciences, as we know it. Can some of the more enlighten astrologer on this forum take a look at this and give us an idea or any correlation between Vedic astrology's meaning in this time frame of the Mayans predictions. Guest guest
Hey Noel, Which predictions of the Mayans were you hoping to discuss? I don't know any. Were they good predictors? Do share if you know anything. I understand that their calendar was phenomenally accurate. I too heard about these "predictions of the end of the world", but what I heard is that their calendar just ends. No predictions at all. I THINK the prediction thing is an inference based on the calendar just ending. I suspect (here's my sense of humor apparently alive and well, well, alive anyway) that they just got tired of making the calendar. I mean, after all, if they were such good predictors would they have bothered to make their calendar run for hundreds of years after any of them would be around to look at it? OOOOOOOR maybe they forsaw Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto" (movie about the end of the Mayan civilization) and thought it was the real (reel) end of the Mayan civilization, at which point they were only off by 5 or 6 years - NOT BAD!!! ;-) --- Noel Gilbert <noel_glbrt > wrote: > Hi there group … If at all possible I would like to > see a discussion on > the predictions of the Mayans from a Joytish point > of view… I hear the > Mayans have been pretty accurate with their > predictions… I also so hear > that they have predicted the end of the world > somewhere at the end of > 2011 or the beginning of 2012. Guest guest
Hi Mary the only one that I an aware of is the end of the world... I was just wondering if there was any sign of this in Joytish... If the Mayans were as accurate as everybody says, you would think that the planets would show somthing around that time frame. And if they do, then what do they portray about this ending? valist, Mary Quinn <mary1quinn wrote: > > Hey Noel, > > Which predictions of the Mayans were you hoping to > discuss? I don't know any. Guest guest
A Mayan priest alive and well today has publicly announced over and over that the calendar white people like to believe is predicting the end of the world is actually only predicting major changes, not the end. And that my buds, is highly likely. That¹s far enough away to believe that at that time we will either be really in pain over our mistakes, or some new invention will help, something MAJOR. Guest guest
Hi I know that a lot of television programs have been devoted to this Mayan calendar thing and none of them has had anything useful to say about 'real' endings. I too think it signifies something else. The question is, does Jyotish (or any other system) give any clues to what kinds of changes? So, Noel, if you're reading this, why not internet search and see if you can find out what actual date is associated with the end of the Mayan calendar. Then we can all take a look with our respective astrological programs. --- Richard E Wurst <das (AT) goravani (DOT) com> wrote: > A Mayan priest alive and well today has publicly > announced over and over > that the calendar white people like to believe is > predicting the end of the > world is actually only predicting major changes, not > the end. > > And that my buds, is highly likely. Guest guest
Jyotish works exclusively on the planets up to Saturn. The patterns of Saturn inward repeat every 59 years. So, whatever is happening now was happening 59 years ago, in terms of where the planets are in the zodiac, but with degree variation, but not sign variation. That¹s why you have things repeating every 59 years in history, and you can find a person with your chart, born 59 years before you, generally. There are some differences, the quick planets may not align, but the slow planets will. Thus, I have found a number of famous people born 59 years before me, who have similar lives to me, and you could too. So this framework does not seriously allow for mundane predictions of large scale, because the end of the world say, doesn¹t happen every 59 years. Any discussion of mundane prediction would have to take this mundane truth into account, one would think. I think without Jyotish we can safely say that things are in a precarious pose at this time worldwide. We have the increase of extreme weather from global warming, and we have Islamic fascists who are willing to Martyr themselves for their cause, and we have loose radioactive materials circulating in the underworld, and we have Russia falling apart at a rapid rate, and that huge country, should parts of it become unglued, could supply bombs and nuclear materials enough to blow us all up or poison us to death. We also have extreme disdain for US and Britain worldwide to fuel all kinds of possibilities, Muslim or nae. Then we have the possibility of nature, that¹s always there, and Global warming could trigger things like Volcanoes and Earthquakes. Note that the Mayan Priest I heard talked a lot about how the Mayans had/have MANY calendars, and that the one everybody talks about, is not to Mayans, anything more special than the others. So again it¹s like, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, because with knowledge, size matters.
