Guest guest
We are human beings, so we have a body and an ORGAN which is the LARGEST in our body: Our skin! And at places it is thick (strangely our scalp and our sole, both strangely associated conceptually and phonetically with the most important part of our being: SOUL!) and at place it or related tissue is really thin -- dare I say (doctors if any in house, please correct me!) the mucous membrane that covers the insides of our stomach and intestines. Or perhaps our retina where images that lead to our perception and concept of perceived REALITY are umm... perceived and captured. And then we take the terminology to the non-physical mental/emotional level where thick and thin skinned-ness gain yet another dimension -- one that is related to moon in a sense! The parts of our being that we prefer to remain closed and guarded and the parts of our being that we decide to reveal and share and put out, in some cases! And then we have a yet deeper core where there is no sharing or penetration. The inner core of our soul that if we choose willingly to shut out the outer interruptions and pestilent intrusions -- we often touch and realize that it exists and is available all the time. The inner sanctum that we arrive at when meditating. It is very difficult to share or describe it and it is often locked as a personal reality, not to be shared and sometimes sadly becomes one of those taboos that though really and directly perceived could not be shared even with a parent! I am not talking about monsters under the bed or the skeleton that is in the closet (get real!) but -- you know I will let your imagination rock and roll and fill in your own gaps on that one! I am talking about realities that are perceived, probed and examined and realized and experienced but not yet ready to be shared! I watched a TV series about one western physicist who spoke about soul and divination, but impressive as it was I did not record his name or other details. ONE SWALLOW DOES NOT MAKE SUMMER -- my oft repeated adage and reminder. It is good to see these one off reportages that pat us on the back and remind some of us that despite science and rationality, there is a bigger reality and it embraces both, it CAN contain both -- rationality and the rest of reality! I once watched one mother who was very practical, daughter of a headmaster who was all into the cause of female education in East Bengal (early part of 20th century) and she never like school, did not quite finish it. Yet the mother ended up with a very difficult but blessed life! A husband who was a spiritualist (used to faint when doing Hari-shongkirton as a child) turned into a rationalist with a lifestory that you would not believe how it turned out to be! The Grand Lady this Matronly being could accept and embrace and promote and rejoice in projects and children, born and adopted and some even assumed without declaration of mother-child relationships -- a vast spectrum that ranged from crazy saints, even crazier mediums, rational scientists, doctors and professors and deans of medical colleges and engineering colleges and had demonstrated her spiritual power as SHE altered fates of those that were close to her and those who were not. She was an ordinary housewife, just a mother, just a grandmother, a humble but saintly being always. Sadly, I have not her birthdata but She died on August 3, 2006 at Winnipeg, Canada at around breakfast time (8-9 AM CDT). I wonder where SHE will be born next, if at all!
