Guest guest
In the Gita, when Krishna is describing his qualities, he says that he is the best in everything- Vishnu in the Adityas, Shankar in the Rudras, Indra in the Devtaas etc. Then he says in the Vedas he is Samveda. Now if I understand correctly, Rig Veda is the oldest & most spiritual. The other Vedas tell you how to perform rituals, healing etc with the mantras of Rig Veda. Samveda itself tells you how to sing the songs of Rig veda properly, & about music in general. So why does Krishna says its the best Veda? That title should goto Rig Veda right? That title should goto RigVeda right? > hmmmmm Very difficult question. Rig Veda is the oldest and has almost all the store of philosophy of hinduism And Sam Veda has richas (mostly taken from Rig-veda)...in a song form Sam Veda came into existence, when the higher gods started singing the glory of God (i.e. the richas of rig-veda), and they started the further creation of the Universe. The beauty of speech lies in the 'Richas', the beauty of richas lie in the 'Saama' and the beauty of the 'Saama' lies in the individual's capability to sing it. Here Sam veda is the creator !, Rig Veda is only the indicator towards the creator. Sama veda created by music...which is Sabd- Brahma of Tantra Perhaps that is the reason Shri Krishna told "He is Sam- veda"...the sabd Brahm or the creator ! There may be many other explanations with love baba
