The Process of Rebirth

When a person dies, he enters the Astral world, though as Babaji has

said most people are unaware of it & go into a deep sleep.

 

The correct term for Astral world is Pranic or Vital world-made of the

life force-Pran or Qi. After a persons physical body dies, his Pranic

body comes here, & his pranic body(made of emotions, desires,

passions) is destroyed.

 

Once this is complete, he goes to the Mental or Manomaya world. Here

his memories, mental constructs(like Hindus are better than other

religons), knowledge(religious, scientific etc) & thoughts are destroyed.

 

According to classical accounts, this process may take several hundred

years.

 

Beyond this is the Swar Lok, the plane of Golden light, where only

people who have freed themself of the 3 bodies(Physical, Vital &

Mental) are allowed.

 

So the soul, whose feelings, emotions, thought patterns have been

destroyed, is now forced to come back to the Physical world to bear

the results of its Karma. The only thing it carries with it are the

Lessons it has learnt- for example if a man was murdered violently, he

might be born with a peaceful nature & hatred of violence, although it

usually takes several lives & many tragedies before the soul learns a

lesson.

 

An important thing is that the person born is a completely different

person, who has nothing to do with his/her previous life. What purpose

would being born again in same body serve-the person has learnt his

lesson & its over. Thats why all link to previous lives are broken.

 

Your Karma mean you might be born with people you knew in previous

life, but you have no way of knowing what Karma you have to fulfil

with them.

 

This is a slow step up the evolution ladder- you suffer, you learn a

lesson, then you grow. Left to itself, everyone will become

enlightened in a few million years. In Yoga we try to short circuit

this long process.

 

Accoridng to this evolutionary theory, people might go into animal

wombs to be taught a lesson, but they will always return to human

wombs once they have learnt it.
