Guest guest
The exercises suggested by Acharyaji will be helpful, and this author leaves the explaination to him. But author would add something here for arthritis patient aged beyond 50. Acharyaji has suggested fresh seasonal vegetables. This is a good suggestion, Many Vata disorders can be helped by green living food. Green living foods boost immune system and auto-immune diseases can be tamed by them. One needs to suppliment green foods by essential fatty acid, and a good indian oil is sesame oil, to be used only in case indian cow ghee not avaialble. Ayurveda recommends many green soups sauted in ghee even when suffering from typhoid, t.b. etc To many, juice fasting conjures up images of starvation, electrolyte imbalance, malnutrition and exhaustion. This is incorrect. Firstly, vegetables are especially nourishing foods, and a variety of vegetables guarantees more than adequate nutrition. The fact that they are juiced does not change that. Secondly, you cannot hurt yourself with produce. There is no down side to a vegetable diet, particularly when accompanied with a couple of good vitamins available in green fruits also. This being winter, a number of fresh and bright colored vegetables as well as fruits avaialble. God is so kind. IN winter, Vata disorders go more sore! And God provides remedies in the form of seasonal veggies and fruits. Who is the real doctor? Obviously Him! Increased C and E Vitamins through Aamla, Lemon, and Honey are also an essential form of arthritis protocol. Science advocates eating Vit. B12, only available in animal products? But where cow and elephant get this vitamin? Both eat grass and greens. To get a quick boost of energy, sweet fruits may also be added. Author has discussed a protocol of fasting on ginger drinks, moong bean soup, moong beans, veggies and fruits for 28 days to say bye to sciatica in eaa post on sciatica. vist this link by clicking on: http://health.ayurveda/message/2765 this protocol has been simplified by him for arthritis (both osteo and rheumatoid) to just eight days, which includes two bastis on last two days. And most patients get surprise to find knee pain reduced to 20-30* in just 8 days! Without any medicine! Even if you are in India, it may not be possible for your mother to come to this author for this simple treatment; hence author suggests some more: Take a tbsp ghee and saut two or three cloves of garlic till they turn golden yellow or brown. chewe them daily in the morning at breakfast. This will provide prompt relief. This is a single and most potent remedy for arthritis. The juice of holy basil leaves (tulsi) mixed with raw turmeric juice if taken daily in the morning cures this ailment. The raw turmeric has just started to appear in Indian markets. Take its advantage. The castor oil plant leaves are applied over the painful, swollen joints. The leaves of the cotton plant or of the Henna plant (mehndi) are applied over the painful joints. A decoction of onion juice with mustard oil is a good application to the painful joints. A mixture of carrot and beet-root juice is an efficacious remedy for arthritis. For western patients: The juice of heliotropium indicum leaves mixed with castor oil if applied externally on the knee joints gives some relief. The juice of paederia foetida leaves with garlic juice if taken daily in the morning cures arthritis, if not very old. ayurveda, "parvathiprasadv" <parvathiprasadv wrote: > My mother, aged 58, is suffering from knee pain, joint pains all > over in general.
