The following are notes from Dr. Swatantra K. Pidara on the attached power

point presentation.

Short version : Om Haum Om Joom Sah, Maam paalaya paalaya maam sah Joom Om

Haum OM.

[i did this one 125000 times and since then cancer never appeared. But I

know a dear friend in cancer tried to do. He perhaps did only 500 a day but

he died long before he could finish]

Middle version: Om Haum Om Joom Sah, Tryambakam yajaamahe sugandhim pushti

vardhanam, urvaarookam iva bandhanaat mrityor muksheeya maa amritaat Sah

Joom Om Haum Om.

Final or Maha version: Om Haum Om Joom Sah, Om Bhoor bhuvah svah, Tryambakam

yajaamahe sugandhim pushti-vardhanam, urvaarookam iva bandhanaat mrityor

muksheeya maa amritaat, svah bhuvar bhoor Om, Sah Joom Om Haum Om.

Some people add another Om before Tryambakam.

[i think one must do three times every day and at the beginning of Mahadeva

pooja.

It can be read for sick or ailing parents, relatives etc.

The meaning of the Mantra is very simple: "I offer sacrificial prayer to

Lord Tryambakam [one with three faces or having three mothers] full of

incense and it is capable of nurturing life. May this free me from the

clutches of death as the catelope is freed from its creeper very easily, but

not from immortality {i.e., grant me immortality}

My teacher K.C.Tewariji told me to read it this version if I remember

correctly. In case you are interested in reading about it then consult

Shiva number of Kalyana.
