Guest guest
Dear friends, I am a new member and I trying to learn the basics of Vedic Astrology . I was introduced by a close friend who is also a member. So i would request you all too pardon me if my queries are too trivial for the group. Ofcourse i really will appreciate an answer or at least directions towards the answers.. I am perplexed by the formation of the 'Navagraha' in the temples. while I appreciate the cause or the reason whct interests me is the arrangement of the grihas. A few questions that intrigued me as as follows:- a) We are all aware that the grihas keep changing their positions. Why is it tha the same formation is displayed in all the temples? b) Why are these Grahas not facing each other? c) why wa a specific direction chosen for each? Barring Surya? Please help. Guest guest
vedic astrology, "Bharath Natarajan" <nbharath59 wrote: >Dear Bharath Natarajanji As you said that you are a new member of this group and you are trying to learn the basics of "Vedic Astrology (which is a misnomner)" and the present question of arrangement of navagrahas does not come under the scope of Hora Tantra i.e., predictive astrology. Instead it is a part of Agama-sastra that braodly tells about vigraha pratishta, ritual of temple or idol worship etc. Hence, my sincere suggestion to you is that beginners like you do get many doubts while studying Indological sciences by their own thougths or perceptions etc. We during our childhood days have never questioned alphabets or numbers but only byheart them, just like that, a beginner like you should realise that you are in infant stage of learning though you may be come of age presently and as soon you realise this truth it is better for you to comprehend the Truth. So when you mean "to learn basics of Vedic Astrology" you try to master that branch of knowledge first and then later go for other branches. In this backdrop, I would like to ask some questions 1)Are you thorough enough to able to calculate planetary positions based on Siddhanta bhaga or Astronomy? 2)If not, plz learn it first, If yes, 3)Are you thorough enough in any one of 12 schools of Hora viz., Nadi, Varahamihira, Jaimini, Parasara, Tajaka, Ramala, Gouri, Yavana, manasagara, vedanga paddhati etc 4)Are you thorough enough in any one of Samhita, brihat, bhadrabhanu, parasara, garga etc I have a very feeble hope that you can answer these. If you can, you are entitled to learn applications i.e., prayogas which are mantra, japa, tantra etc where exactly the nature of your question lies I hope you got the point Jairadhe > Dear friends, > > I am a new member and I trying to learn the basics of Vedic > Astrology . Guest guest
Dear Bharath, I have observed 2 temples where the navgrahas are situated in 2 totally different configurations, one where some planets were facing each other and the entire formation was a digital "C" and another one where the planets were placed in a kind of matrix. || Om Krishna Guru || Humble Regards, Hemant Desai Bharath Natarajan <nbharath59 > wrote: Dear friends, I am a new member and I trying to learn the basics of Vedic Astrology .
