Guest guest
Spam is way up on the web. thus has to deal with tons of it to service all those free accounts. So, they have done something nobody else would do: Since they are so big, they have stopped servicing outside mail servers as high of priority as their own- they have demoted outside mail senders, so basically, in other words, they take care of themselves, then other mail, so this means a slow down for anyone writing to a account from any other company account. Like if I write to a account person from my regular das (AT) goravani (DOT) com, well, that¹s goravani.com, not , so my message gets demoted and arrives a day late, or whatever it happens to be. This practice is unusual, and looked down upon by many other ISP¹s, for obvious reasons. Gmail is not doing this. Might want to open an account there. Or hitch a ride on a friends server. Really, if any of your close friends have websites, they probably got a bunch of free email accounts with it they are not using, and all¹s they have to do is tell their ISP your name and password, and you¹re on. So if you like one of your friends website name, hitch a ride. Guest guest
Thanks, Richard, for the explanation. That's too bad about . I tried to get a Gmail account, but for the immediate future, you need a cell phone to sign up. I don't have one and don't know anyone who does. Oh well. So I guess I'll only write to other ers! :-( Sponsored Link Mortgage rates near 39yr lows. $510k for $1,698/mo. Guest guest
Greetings Mary, I don't know if receiving an invite to gmail makes a difference, but I have 99 I've never used, so I sent you one to see if it allows you to bypass the cell phone issue. Good Luck. Gmail is an excellent web-based mail service. olusanya On 11/17/06, Mary Quinn <mary1quinn > wrote: > > Thanks, Richard, for the explanation. That's too bad > about .
