Dear Member:

Navagraha yantrams are also best not kept in the house unless it is

done during the course of a remedial pooja suggested by an expert.

For that matter, worship/ pooja involving any yantra has to be done

with certain rigorous rituals which are not always feasible for most

persons now-a-days. Another thing is....any yantra gets is power

ONLY after a proper Praanapratishta pooja done by an expert in

mantra shaastra. Buying laminated/ moulded forms of yantraas which

are not sanctified by proper rituals and chants is only as good as

purchasing a toy. what is more.....if the yantraas contain some

flaws, it can even be counterproductive. YOu have brought out a

pertinent query.....it is best to avoid purchasing yantras from

shops in pilgrim centres.

When we visit temples, the relevant yantras are already there under

the idols. In fact, it is the power of the yantra that gives

additional sanctity and Grace to the idol (of course, the idols have

their own sanctity due to iconographic designs). It is best that we

content ourselves with visit to temples and offer our prayers before

the Deities instead of buying yantras and keeping them at home. In

fact, I have observed another thing also during the course of my

rare visits to clients' homes.....For some troubles that seem to

have no astrological reason, improper use of the yantraas have been

the cause...when the minor flaws are rectified, the problems seem to

vanish almost within hours or days at best! for instance, in one

pooja room I found that the Mahaa Ganapathy Yantram which had been

installed after proper performance of HOmam and other rituals was

hanging upside down. The mistake probably happened while giving the

yantra for framing! When the yantra was erected, the problems

seemed to vanish within a week and things settled down amicably in

the family. Having a yantra with holes in its body structure is not

auspicious.....Yantraas should not be allowed to gather dust or

dirt....this will have direct effect on the health of the family

members and peace in the family. so, unless a person is a upaasakaa

who is intent on meditating on a deity and acquiring some occult

powers for the welfare of the society or for spiritual progress,

yantraas are not recommended at all. Even in such spiritual cases,

it is best to restrict the usage of yantra only to limited Deities'

yantras like the yantra of one's Ishta Devata or Kula Devata.

It is paradoxical that only those who are most affected by mundane

troubles buy more and more yantraas, and maybe, they end up in a

vicious cycle of more confusions due to improper maintanence of the

yantras.

Recital of simple sthothras like Navagraha sthothrams (Japa kusuma

sangaasham....) or chanting of God's names will be the best forms of

worship for a normal householder these days. For remedies, it is

best to approach one astrological expert and follow his/ her opinion

on all matters consistently and chalk out the best course to side-

step planetary troubles.

Even in cases where Navagraha Yantraas are installed on valid

recommendations, it is best to immerse the yantras in the ocean or a

well containing pure water or under auspicious trees/ temple

premises with a token offering of money (the money can be kept under

the yantra or immersed in the water bodies) once the ritual worship

is over for the recommended duration. If the yantra is a small one

which is kept inside a tabeej (thaayathu or amulet) without exposing

the diagramatic pattern of the yantra outside, it is alright

provided again it has been done in accordance with proper

procedures. As one cannot be sure of whether the proper procedures

have been followed in preparing the yantra, it is better to err on

the positive side and avoid wearing them altogether.

Blessed be.

buying them in any piligrim place being offered as a END all problem

solution, which sure must be given in a horoscope and also done in

the right way to get any benifit, no short cuts must be spread here.
