Guest guest
Dear RRjj, SURE I DO VERIFY IN all face2face cases on ST/WT and i have casted computerised horoscopes for many astrologers in MADRAS, BANGALORE, HYD, PUNE others not much and did make sure they specified it and had my order form giving the start and end dates of WT as given in N C Lahiri'sTABLE of ascendents. similarly for foreign births as many time zones I could recall asking them to specify else the balme is mine for giving them a wrong chart than theirs for not giving me the info costs me more for not verifyig no one paid for their mistakes and I was the 1st ICAS member to do it for many fellow astrologers who were scared of technology [from jan 88, earlier many of them used to get it from KCP from 1971 with a 10 day waiting time] now many have their own PC's a welcome change. regards/Prashant Rohiniranjan <jyotish_vani (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> wrote: Dear Kumar ji, I do not personally believe that there were any 'negative' intentions in this case, simply lack of clarity -- particularly since the ST/WT clarification still hangs. It is not so much about the time itself, as in 10 PM for starters, as an example. But then given the uncertainty does the astrologer cast a chart based on 10 PM IST or 10 PM WT or 10 PM LMT? All three could have been in vogue, given the year, and the size of the location and how particular people were about noting the time, etc. That point was important and hence I was making it. Guest guest
Dear Kumarji, I did not doubt for even a second that all serious jyotishis would make sincere attempt to verify things like that for those are essential for most jyotishis who have to go by the chart and not their intuitive abilities (most of us are technicians!). Having said that, the fact is that there are only so few places given in Tables of Ascendants and even the ACS atlas. When one runs into a situation where birthplace is a small to medium town or worse if it is a village and the birth is during earlier years, there is a mish mash of standard times and local times and with poor local records in town-halls and panchayats of time changes etc, it sometimes becomes an impossible task to track down the real time. Then we come to the other problem in earlier births. How accurate was the watch or clock? Back then I believe the railway station clock used to be the golden standard since there were not too many time- signals and radios, particularly in villages etc. How rigorously people calibrated their watches and clocks, those that possessed the time-keepers that is, is sometimes glossed over by astrologers. That is why I am a bit wary of some birthtimes. I can well understand why some individuals prefer horary astrology over natal astrology for such questionable birthtimes. But, I think we have exhausted this topic and sounded enough pragmatic, realistic notes of caution, as I believe is our duty. Our responsibility is over :-) RR , Prashant Kumar G B <gbp_kumar wrote: > > Dear RRjj, > > SURE I DO VERIFY IN all face2face cases on ST/WT and i have casted computerised horoscopes for many astrologers in MADRAS, BANGALORE, HYD, PUNE others not much and did make sure they specified it and had my order form giving the start and end dates of WT as given in N C Lahiri'sTABLE of ascendents. similarly for foreign births as many time zones I could recall asking them to specify else the balme is mine for giving them a wrong chart than theirs for not giving me the info costs me more for not verifyig no one paid for their mistakes and I was the 1st ICAS member to do it for many fellow astrologers who were scared of technology [from jan 88, earlier many of them used to get it from KCP from 1971 with a 10 day waiting time] now many have their own PC's a welcome change. > > regards/Prashant > > Rohiniranjan <jyotish_vani wrote: Dear Kumar ji, > > I do not personally believe that there were any 'negative' intentions > in this case, simply lack of clarity -- particularly since the ST/WT > clarification still hangs.
