Dear Member:

It is not advisable to keep the photographs of any

navagraha devata in the house. Gnaaprasnaambika

Devi's image can be separated from the ketu photograph

and reframed for the Pooja. Keeping Gnaaprashnaambika

Devi's photograph is very very auspicious.

Kindly remember not to keep any navagraha photo or

even remains of navagraha havans for that matter in

your house. The photographs of the navagraha devataas

can be placed in any temple near your house, or under

a peepal tree, or immersed in running water of a river

or sea. Pray like this while you are immersing or

disposing the photographs ("Oh Venerable Navagraha

devata (chant the name of the devata Rahu/ ketu

here)....Just as your image is taking leave of me, the

doshaas associated with you also should take leave of

me.....I have not meant any disrespect to you....I

still seek thy Blessings......Reduce thy malefic

effects and maximize the positive effects accruing out

of your placement in my horoscope".

Blessed be.

I have based my opinions on Navagraha prasadams and Navagraha

yantrams on mantra shaastra traditions and also on the basis of

replies given by the venerable sage of Kanchi The Great

Paramaachaarya Chandrashekarendra saraswathy of Revered Memory on

this matter. In fact, he had given this advice on more than one

occasion to many persons approaching him for guidance.

As I earlier posted stating that "I am interested to know

authoritative verse or vedic mantra from you". It is nice to have a

member among us who had close aquaitance with His Holiness

Paramachaarya Chandrashekarendra Saaraswathy and I am also very much

eager to know horoscopic study of His Holiness from your own words

which will enlighten the members by the way. Moreover, my point is

still not clarified, as I am interested to know any

guhya/apastamba/mantra shaastra/sutra etc relevant to the present

context though you have already stated the "practice" of His

Holiness.

dear friends

as pandit dakshinamoorthiji has rightly said, one shall not keep or

worship the images or photographs of rahu and ketu in their homes

because these two are demons by birth and nature but have only got

planetary status after drinking the nectar which is why they are

called evil planets.

however, in all navagraha shanti homams or even navagraha yantras,

these two planets too find a place only to pacify them from giving

their negative results.

while complimenting dakshinamoorthiji, i wish to supplement as

follows:

one can keep the photo and worship lord aditya who is planet sun.

even the gods like rama have worshipped lord sun. i have recommended

worship of aditya bhagawan photo to several customers of mine and

many of them have received the grace of lord sun.

but since the planets have the power to give negative results when we

invoke divine grace from the gods and goddesses to get protection

from various evil creatures and in that list of creatures the planets

also find mention. many vedic verses mention protection from planets.

however, according to the tenets of mantra shastra, one can keep a

highly sanctified and energised navagraha mantra written as per the

shastras in which the symbol of the planet is written first and then

the respective yantra containing nine numerics is inscribed within

that symbol and also the respective mantra written underneath. such

complete yantras written with ashtagandha ink on a bhoj patra with a

tree branch pen is fit for keeping in a person's house or for wearing

in an emulet and the only objective of that yantra is to make the

nine planets stop giving any negative results to the house where it

is kept. even in this modern age, i made such bhoj patra yantras

strictly as per mantra shastra tenets and the devotees having them

got relieved from the negative affects of the planets.

hence as rightly observed by fraternal brother dakshinamoorthiji, the

metallic yantras produced by machines are useless and in reality a

disrespect to the planets. since any and all yantras are fraught

with so many strict standards, it is safest for the discerning

natives to stick to mantras after getting initiated duly by a guru.

with best wishes and blessings

pandit arjun

Dear Ms. Gurpreet:

I cannot comment on this because you say a pundit has written it for

you and he might have had his own reason for giving you that....I do

not know for what purpose he might have done it for you; maybe, he

would have given it with a particular intention as a kavach for you.

Moreover, if it is a navagraha shaanti yantra, there is no harm in

keeping it. In any case, if you are feeling anxious about its

effects or you are unsure of its results, the better option is you

may let it go in running water praying that the good effects of the

yantra should stay with you and you are just returning the power of

the yantra back to the Universe where it rightfully belongs and you

mean no disrespect to this yantra.

If you completely trust the pundit who wrote it for you, you may ask

their opinion itself in this regard. If you are unsure of that,

take your own decision as there are some pundits who tend to get

very angry when asked about such doubts. Definitely there is no

harm in letting the yantra into the running water praying properly.

About keeping this with you, you have to think and decide.

May God give you the intuition to take the correct decision in this

regard.

Blessed be.

Pandit R.DAKSHINAMOORTHI.

Thanks a lot for your advise and time.

Dear Ms.

May God give you the intuition to take the correct decision in this

regard.

Blessed be.

Pandit R.DAKSHINAMOORTHI.

sqaures. Please advise if I should let go of the yantra in running

water....
