I deeply regret to inform the group that Pt. Dinesh Chandra Awasthi, a

great sanskrit scholar and an exponent of Jyotish for over 25 years

expired at the young age of 53, on 8th November 2006 around 10am.

He was a pioneer of sort in editing and providing content and

calculations for Astrology software over a decade back.

He is well known for his organizational abilities and has organized

hundreds of get-togethers and seminars in India. He was recently

appointed Chairman of the Mumbai Chapter of ICAS.

Pt. Awasthi had a few months back started a project to "Unify BPHS"

from several sources and come up with an authentic translation (based

on secondary sources, as no primary source is available) of BPHS. I

was the sponsor for the project.

He leaves behind his wife, three daughters and one son in Mumbai, India.

May his soul rest in peace.

So sorry to learn that one so young has passed over, and may his soul rest in peace. Was this an expected or sudden loss may I ask?

hospitalised as he started deteriorating very fast. He died of
