They are both volunteering personal and valuable time. FOLKS, let us not give them more grief but our support! And why? Because this forum is essential for all of us! If they were to close the forum -- where would we all go and get the same information that is shared here? A virus in infecting the email cannot send message to the messenger of other person unless and until it has infected the computer of the message sender. There are no virus mails coming to the group as such from any of the idle group members. There is no reason to block their ids. The messages are being sent only to Prashant's id, no one else's. There is a provision of spam checking even on the JR group site. The spam checker works well enough, to the extent that the mails which Prashant sent to the group mentioning the virus activities, and citing some examples, landed up in spam folder rather than in group's messages. It was because the spam checker identified the given examples themselves as potential spam. So, there is no need to block any ids on the group. The viruses are not working from the server. They are lurking somewhere in the PCs and they are sending messages to some individuals only. The best way is to use a better antivirus and to increase the levels of spam filtering on your emails. When that mode is utilized, the attachments go through. If web-mode is utilized, attachments get stripped off. It is safer to use web-mode. Also in webmode one can pick and choose messages. Using email program like outlook, everything gets dumped into the in box and this can lead to frustration because one cannot avoid ploughing through the messages! Another advantage of webmode access!
