Happiness and contentment

is personal and reflected classically by the fourth house. Why?

Interestingly, the fifth house is placed second therefrom. The second

stands for the 'acquisitions' wealth, education, family, speech and

*vision*!

The house of efforts, purushartha, the third stands in the 12th from

the fourth! Can we not work harder and acquire peace and contentment?

That does not sound like what the TV and NET evangelists tell us?

The house of sickness and enemies, the sixth, lies third from peace

and contentment. Does that mean that from a point of peace and

equanimity (4th) it is possible to rid oneself of sickness and enmity

(though not enemies -- for those arise from their perceptions over

which you and I have no control!).

What is this house of peace and contentment (IV)'s KARMA in this

lifetime? Well the lagna is in the 10th from the 4th! So is it all

really about the lagna, the self? Are you surprised?

The 11th house in a chart ends up being the 8th from the fourth.

Earning never gives pleasure, but just makes for work and pain and

death to peace and contentment! Not surprising!! On the other hand,

acquisition and accumulation of what is considered as wealth

(education, objects, family etc!) happens to be in the 11th (gains)

from the fourth house (which we are considering as lagna in this

essay, in case someone lost track and reference).

Please complete the picture if this line of logic is of interest or

making sense!
