Shortened cycle

Hi all,

 

For the last 3 months my normally very regular 27-28 day menstrual

cycle has shortened to 20 days. This has never happened before and I

am a little concerned.

 

I'm not asking for any detailed medical analysis, but would be very

appreciative of any dietary changes, recommended yoga poses, or

other advice or insight to help balance this back out. I searched

past messages but couldn't find anything relevant.

 

Here are a few details about me and things I can think of that have

changed over the last 3 months. I am not sure how many of these

things are relevant.

 

I'm 28 yo and do not have any children

 

I feel that my diet has actually improved over the last 3 months -

this is something I have been working on - no red meat, very little

other meat except fish, lots of fresh cooked veggies, grains, etc.

However, I have been avoiding salad (due to being grossed out over

the California spinach problems). And I have been drinking more than

usual, though not excessively (3-4 glasses of wine per week when

traveling on business, 0-1 otherwise).

 

As best I can determine on my own, my normal constitution is pitta.

 

I have a long term problem with acne which has gotten a lot better

in the last few months.

 

I just started a new job function that is requiring me to travel (by

plane) 1-2 times per month.

 

My new office does not have a window and due to the time of year and

recent overcast weather I do not see much sunlight in a typical day.

 

I have been drinking too much caffeine (mostly in the form of

coffee) and just started trying to cut back last week.

 

In the last couple of months, I have been trying to go to bed

earlier & more consistently, at around 9:30 PM. At the same time I

have been having elaborate nightmares and generally not sleeping

well.
