Boiling Rudraksha beads

Hi,

Boiled the beads, got a lot of oil residue out from the Ganesh bead

that came free with my order. I boiled my other beads but they needed

less time in the water.

The contrast effect is now gone... It originally look was a like

silver jewellery with dark etchings but I suspect it be back again soon.

Best way to go about it was to tied up each individually to a

chopstick with just enough length so that it does not touch the pot

and then leave it for an hour.

Those strands/fibres are the pulp. I don't think it possible to 100

percent remove all. I used a small pin to scrape out what I could.

Initially, boiling them was gave some heartache. They darkened a lot,

some part looked black. But once cooled, the blackness left.

The "broth" smelled rather nice though. No I didn't drink it...

Come to think of it, how does the Rudraksha berry taste like?
