I am crying as I read your note, and through your sorrow and hardship, I pray that you know how very much you are loved and appreciated for being the unique and precious Daughter of the Divine Mother that you are. You are deeply loved... Dear Sanatani ~ it is hard to express how much your words, and the openness and welcoming warmth of the group means to me. If mere words can remove pain, yours certainly helped. You are so right ... it is very hard to "see" that much of this pain, whatever form it may take, is the shedding of the old to make way for the new ... probably just as uncomfortable for a human as for a snake, and when I think of rebirth and healing, I often "see" the ancient sign of the Ouroburous, the snake biting its own tail, or picture a snake shedding its skin (I have used naturally shed snake skin in some of my mixed media art). It is all cycles and shedding and growing, but as you intimated, these are the cycles of the Mother, and She will do as She must, for our own best good as well as the greater good of all. Durga is another One I think of ... the Remover of Difficulties, and I will always keep my copy of The Chandi Path, which is an ancient scripture, both a story and a system of worship, that shows that sometimes removing difficulties is more difficult than we think. : ) She had a great war against an army of negative thoughts and ultimately called on many of the Goddesses ... Saraswati, Lakshmi, Kali ... to help fight this army. They fought long and hard and without compunction slew every single negative thought. An interesting aside to this story is that the personifications of the negative thoughts, after their death, went to dwell with the gods. I can't go on ... but it is an incredible healing journey to read this scripture, and if anyone is interested in knowing where to get a copy, please let me know.
