0253."While living `in life,' a wise person acquires the mental and

spiritual strength to live also `in death' or to live in eternity

beyond death. He dies to his ego. Once one dies to the ego, there

is no person, and thus there is no one to die. Such people are so

full with life that they do not know death. Having transcended

death, they know only life, ever-pulsating life everywhere. They

become the very essence of life." - Vol.4 p271

0284."Whatever is not understood, whatever is beyond the ordinary

intellect, people want to destroy. They consider it as strange,

unreasonable and illogical. Their egos cannot bear it. Not having

an ego is unknown to them; therefore, they want to get rid of such

egoless phenomena. They are afraid. They fear that such people will

destroy their ego and make others egoless as well. If the whole

world becomes egoless, then the big, inflated egos will have no

existence. They want the ego and the world to exist forever, for

without the ego and the world, they cannot possess, acquire, enjoy

and indulge. For them life is for that, not for becoming egoless." -

Vol.4 p302

0285."Know that the Mahatmas are not here to destroy but to create -

to create a positive, healthy and intelligent attitude about life.

They let you live and enjoy, but they teach you how to live life and

enjoy it. … "Ordinary people crave name and fame; therefore, they

want to fight against the egoless, pure and innocent saints. For this

reason, some who are established in that state of Self-Realization

and who choose to remain in the body will create an ego with which to

`fight back.' But this kind of ego is a shadow ego or the mirage of

an ego. It looks like an ego, but in reality no ego exists. If you

observe closely, you can see that there is no ego in them. You might

detect that it is non-existent, but they keep the appearance of an

ego to frighten and threaten the big, inflated egos. - Vol.4 p303
