Villagers campaign to conserve Chure Region [ 2006-11-12 ] RSS

SARLAHI, Nov. 11: Locals from Kalinjor, Parwanipur, Patharkot and Narayankhola of Sarlahi district has been active for the conservation of the Chure region which is being deforested year by year.

The villagers have been motivated to participate actively in the Chure Conservation Programme being oriented to the self-dependence after a ?Bikalpa? (Alternative) programme was launched by a local non-governmental organization, Rural Volunteers Society with the support of Chure Conservation Programme.

As the phase wise afforestation programmes were launched in the Chure region, the greenery has prevailed in this area, a local Hari Lungeli said.

Not only the wild trees but the fruits are also planted in the conservation area.

The slogan ?Hariyo Ban Nepalko Dhan?(Green Forest: the Wealth of Nepal) would be materialized if such self-dependence campaigns are launched in the over all Chure region from the east to west.
